what smells remind you of your childhood?

For me it would be freshly cut privet and every so often I come across a particular type of soap and I think, yes, that's it.

Hmm!I can't describe it because it's not a specific smell but a collection of smells intermingled when you walk through the African bush.Indiscribable but so unique.

The bitter sweet smell of silage and the whiff given off my ducks ... they're not particularly *nice* smells but they're very nostalgic for me all the same ... don't come across the duck-poo smell that frequently these days although silage is constantly in nose-shot.

Nutmeg! I think at a very young age my Mum used to put it in my milk, so every time I smell it (or taste it) I get all chilled and warm (at the same time?!?) and fuzzy. Mmmm
Creosote is another good one...
