h2g2 on WAP

I remember that h2g2 used to be available via WAP. On the move or something it was called. Then when the BBC took over it had to be cancelled due to commercial contracts or something, or so I heard.

Anyhow, in the latest BBC annual report, it states that "A new WAP service supplies news, sport and listings to mobile phone users"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/info/report2002/review/new_media.shtml

So does this mean that On the move can be brought back<?>

They must have sorted out that legal glitch by now.

If I remember correctly, it had something to do with the BBC suplying news data to Yahoo mobile, and one or two of the other news agencies complaining about unfair competition (the Beeb is publicly funded)... or something like that!

Is there any update? Will we get H2G2 mobile back? AvanteGo or WAP?

B.

I believe that it is allowed again now, but funds would be better spent on new features that everyone can use, which is fair enough. Also see A809705 for Peregrin's smiley - cool idea smiley - ok

I liked "H2G2 on the move". It even had little pictures on. If they bring it back I will get a "Don't Panic!" sticker for my phone.

Sad???
