old ones in the new releases section? probably because they're 'digitally remastered' or some nonsense, like a brand new analogue recording isn't as good!pff! have you noticed that captain birdseye went from a dirty old man (har-harrrr!!! come find my gold kiddies!!!) to a near replica of actionman? some cross-marketing me thinks!

yeah. If you were going to let the customers use the ladders, you'd probably have to get them to sign release forms, or at least have huge flashing signs on the way in releasing all responsibility for injury. Then you'd have the grannies hanging around the ladders all day waiting for some nice 'young man!' to hop up for them! *shudder*

...there's no accounting for taste, so they try to take it out of the equation altogether. There should be intelligent superstores, with nice paintings and those tredmills so you just stand and pick for a few extra pence! Some nice music would be a change, eh?

It's not about "simple," my dear. It's about money. Do you think all that
shelf space is FREE?? No, no, no. Not at all. Next time you're in a
supermarket, check out who has eye-level shelves (Coke, Frito-Lay,
Campbell's) and who has the high & low shelves (Store Brand name
and teeny-tiny companies). Additionally, there may be sub-pricing
within a brand name, maybe it costs more to place your cream of broccoli
more prominently than your tomato. Commerce is never about your
convenience but their profit. Not to be a cynic, or anything...

Sadly, for the race that calls itself intellegent on this planet (no, not the mice) you are not being a cynic. It all sinks, slithers, slides down to the bottom line. Money.

Not exactly, people go to thrift shops!?! It's more an ego and whatever it is for women thing to buy goods in these nice well stocked big ...but they also go to mingle, unfortunately for the elderly they have no discoteques playing elvis and daniel o'donnell, they have to settle for a girls day out at the supermarket, it seems to be the only place they socialise with each other, unless they canvas for the conservative party. Oh! and of course bingo.

they would also need to decide wether to alphabatize it going left to right or going up to down... all of these decisions would just be too much for management to take. as they say the one who knows what they are doing or can make the decisions is never in power and the ones in power cannot make the decisions or know what they are doing.

Ouch. Not all women. I shop thrift stores (they don't alphabetize either). I prefer them. And I really prefer a 'mom and pop' store over a supermarket, but I don't really 'mingle'. To be honust, I don't like shoping for groceries. But sadly, you may be right about the elderly and socializing. And I guess bingo. My boyfriend's grandmother lives for bingo (wins a lot too ).
