Gnomon - time to move on Posted Jun 20, 2002
Kaz, I've checked some charts and as far as I can see, the actual solstice is 13:11 GMT on 21-Jun this year. That's 14:11 British Summer Time. It seems that the solstice will continue to be on 21-June until about 2008 or thereabouts, when it will move to the 20-June.
On Friday evening I'll be filling a skip with rubbish. On Saturday, I will attend a piano performance given by my two daughters (separately, not together), then go to Wexford (Ireland's sunniest spot) for the rest of the weekend.

And cutting half my honeysuckle down as it's sinfested with aphids, and I don't want them taking over the whole plant.
