Do women find facial hair attractive?

I've been toying with a goatee for the past few days, but then the police caught me at it and I decided to grow a beard.

As a typically unattractive representative of the male populace, is it going to improve my standing?

On a slightly more serious note, do any of the chaps out there have advice on beard care. (NB: I'm scared of razors so I shave electrically).

I had an indepth discussion with a person of the female persuasion on saturday night stating my intent to go bearded. I'm going to South America in august and can't be ar*ed to take a razor ... I'm travelling with my little sister so she can pass comment on it as we go. I've got a month of unrestricted growing time so I'll be interested to see just what I look like! I actually want to prove to myself what I always suspected, ie all beards (within reason) are ginger!

As per the start of this posting, I had a conversation with a female sort on saturday night and I said I was going to grow a beard ... she was pretty blunt in her reply it has to be said! Hirsute I'm not but I like to think my beard wouldn't be too patchy!

Hope this hopes Master B! I'll let you know how my beard growing exploits go!!

Personally I don't find facial hair attractive. Fortunately the boyf is not considering growing one as if he does he will look exactly like his father did 20 years ago!

An interesting philosophy on all beards being ginger! Mine seems to be variously coloured at the minute, but tending towards a 'vampire beard' ie: One that is invisible in photos and mirrors smiley - smiley

I like stubble, but I'm not too sure about beards.
A short mention of the men in the office - Sam has stopped shaving long enough to grow a beard, and he looks yummy! smiley - winkeye Mark looks better with a goatee than with a beard. Jim's got a goatee, but it's longer than the hair on his head!

I think it's personal to each woman, and the man's face.

When I was a teenager one of my friends introduced me to his big brother, who was home from Oxford. He was the most gorgeous looking creature I'd ever seen.

Next time I met him he'd shaved off his beard and d'you know what?...

smiley - yuk

smiley - weird-looking guy. smiley - laugh

If you've got nice eyes a beard makes you look wonderful because it tends to hide the rest of your face (likewise if you have a funny mouth or a spotty chin).

You can always shave it off if you don't like it.

Are you implying that my goatee being longer than my hair is a bad thing - I'm a skinhead as well, you know.

I have a rather broad jaw, and for that reason the goatee is on the large side at the minute, and smaller and there'd be jowls hanging down each side, and that's no way to impress women.

The big problem is, in this crucial stage of intermediate beard growth, I'm starting to look somewhat scruffy (ahem, scruffier than normal, rather smiley - smiley). The hair's all growing in different directions. What do I do, comb it?

Definitely circus material.

To answer a previous question, I do have (at least I've been told I have) nice eyes, and am hoping the goatee will distract attention from my teeth, which are awful. Not rotten or anything, just wonky.
There's probably a picture of me somewhere on the net so you can make your own minds up

OK...all the photos of me on the net feature some extremely cheesy face-pulling. Perhaps the best one is at:

Excuse the lecherous grin, try and imagine me with a normal face, and tell me if a beard would suit it.

I just feel that growing a beard is one of those things one has to do once ... I don't suppose it'll last long, unless of course people start finding me irresistably attractive ... smiley - tongueout

I think that some women like beards because it tickles their thighs. Don't forget to have a good wash after otherwise everything will taste of herring. smiley - yikes

Feel free to moderate ...

smiley - laugh Moonglum ...

I'm sure once you're bearded it's fine but there's the stubble stage which has to smart a little ... It takes about 48 years before anyone notices I haven't shaved and I've had complaints after only 12 hours ... very sensitive skin twixt the thighs ...
