Quick poll: 3 things you would try to save if there was a fire

Heaven forbid there were a fire in your home.
What 3 things would you attempt to save if you had a guaranteed 3 minutes to do so?
People and pets are a given.
Mine would be:
1. Photos
2. Documents (passport, birth certificate, insurance etc)
3. My teddy bear that I've had since I was 2!

1) Electric Fiddle
2) Acoustic Fiddle
3) PDA
(and my 70 Arthurian Books would be flung out of the window to whatever fate befell them.... Couldn't leave them to burn. Rather go myself... )

I'd grab:
1. documents (including bank books pasasport birth certificate GCSE, A level, university etc certificates), which are in a case all togheter (and to be sneaky: the laptop in its case that is sitting next to the first case; therefore only one item, as I can easily carry both together and pick up both together with one finger through the handles on each...)
2. PDA/mobile.
3. a guitar.... this is the point at which I'd probably burn to death trying to decide which one I could take....

I have honestly tried to think of what three things I would grab hold of, and came to the conclusion that there is nothing I possess which I am so attached to it would be irreplaceable.
When it comes down to it, I find I have nothing of great sentimental value any more - which is really wierd considering I have a house stuffed to the rafters with all kinds of junk that we haven't been able to part with over the years for all kinds of reasons.
The most important things to save - J and Boy Wonder - have already been taken care of in the proviso to the original question.
I think this is partially to do with losing my father-in-law a few weeks ago. We have a photo of him on top of the TV in one of the vintage vehicles he loved so much, but even that's not irreplaceable - my bro-in-law has the original and the negative, so getting a replacement even for that wouldn't be impossible.
However, while typing this essay I have realised there is one thing that I would have to save. It is a picture painted by Boy Wonder when he was about five, and which means nothing to anyone else in the world except J and me. Perhaps I do still have an ounce of sentimentality in me after all!
Let normal service now be resumed.

Yeh, I've kinda rethought the last two on my list, both the mobile/PDA, and all teh guitars are insured anyhow and its not like I've an overly attached to any of them the laptop/folderwith documents/certificates in I'd still nab as the lap top has irriplacible information on it like notes from Uni etc., and the certificates/documents are hard to get again yeh, I'd probably just grab my hat and jacket for the second item, or is that two? (nothing sentimental about them, just it is bluddy freezing outside ) I've nothing sentimental at all, used to have a few things that went missing and now its just easier not to get sentimental about 'things' memories work fine and they ain't so easy to loose

1. My photos. Don't have a digital camera or PC, so they're irreplacable at the minute.
2. My music collection. Or as much as I could carry. Same problem as 2legs here, burning to death whilst deciding what to take!
3. Some warm socks, as it's cold out today.

Hmm, the music and movie collections would be out- 4,000+ CDs and 1,000+ movies... I'd croak before I could choose.
Aside from those, I'd say:
(1)passport and bank card
(2)computer discs with spreadsheets listing CDs, movies, and books we own, for insurance records
(3)asthma medicine

>>memories work fine and they ain't so easy to loose<<
My memory has been going since I was born. Also as I get older so it is harder to define those memories and ensure that memories don't overlap or meld together...

Given that the pets and the other half were safly out of the house -
1. - wallet and driving licence (both come out of the same draw).
2. - Inhalor for the other half to stop him wheezing his way into hospital due to smoke inhillation from the house fire.
3. - Teddy that my Great Gran gave me when I was born.
Or if it were the middle of a winters night some clothes.

My inhalor so I don't drop dead, my purse so at least I can start buying new stuff, and my phone, so I can text all my mates to say 'my house is on fire!' etc. If I don't have to count medicine, then whatever bit of cross stitch I'm doing at the time.
I'd hate to lose all the photos and other bits and pieces of things that help me to remember my life, but I'd burn to death trying to decide what I'd want to take.

I was talking about this the other day with a mate.
Seeing as how people and pets are a given, and I assume since its winter and brass monkeys out there that I'd have my coat on (It has my wallet in so there's my documentation)
1) my signed BtVS memorabilia
2) My limited edition collectors plates and vampire Willow doll. (Its all in the same box waiting for display.)
3) My 'Faith' replica knife.
Somone else can grab the pc!
Wow, that makes me sound so shallow, Im not really but the chances of me being able to get that or afford some of it again, are pretty remote!

Need to review our renters' insurance to make sure we have adequate coverage... Also need to document my book collection & do up a replacement estimate...
Baby & hubby are safe so...
1. Baby's nebulizer - don't think it's on the insurance policy & she might need it after the fire
2. box of photos from my childhood
3. baby books - mine & Peanut's - they have info, cards, poems people wrote, etc in them
hubby can grab the identification

I would have saved the photos, but most of my photos have been lost, and iPhotos has lost two thirds of my digital photos over the weekend, so nothing there to save really...
As they say... 'The past is History'

1) My baby's green blanket - he can not sleep anywhere without it
2) My PILLS... Cant survive without my pills... twitch twitch
3) I probably wouldnt be able to dig through all the drawers to find my passport in time, so it would have to be the plush Yoshi's I bought on ebay.

If I had to choose 3 material things, firstly it would be my CD collection and walkman portable CD player. I've only got about 20 or so albums, all of which are kept in a CD wallet with my walkman strapped on top, so thats easy.
I'd probably also take some books, although which to choose? Probably my Mojo Magazine book 'The Beatles: 10 Years that Shook the World" and my boxed version of The Hobbit, with postcards and a massive map.
Third one is hard and I bet this probably isn't what I'd really take but my little cardboard model of Shaespeare I made from a great design I got from a card. It nods its head!
It really is a harder task than you'd think!
