"Once in a Blue Moon". Very, very rarely there are two full moons in the same month and when this happens, the second full moon is called a Blue Moon. The last time we had a Blue Moon was fairly recently in January 1999, when there was a full moon on 2nd January and again on 31st January.

The concept of what constitutes the colour Blue is very much up for grabs. Some cultures don't distinguish between Blue and Green. And even in those cultures that do, people are often confused about Blue. Is it Blue, is it Purple or is it Ultramarine?
