Towns in the UK seem to have many quaint, strange or amusing street names. London's Pudding Lane, Threadneedle Street, Petticoat Lane and The Shambles in York spring to mind.
My home town, Dundee, has the wonderfully named Lower Pleasance and Peep'O'Day Lane.
Nearby Perth has Needless Road.
Can anyone think of any other odd ones from around the world?

In Birmingham there's a Needless Alley and an estate called Bell End.

Kirriemuir has a street called "The Moon" so you really can go walking on the moon!
Quiet Street in Bath sounds just delightful and Treacle Nook in Worcester gets a mention for quaintness.

Since a shambles used to be a meat market, it is quite a common street name.
Dublin's best is probably Fumbally Lane.

If I ever chose to become a mysetrious, Eastern European fortune teller, I shall name myself after a street in Edinburgh:
Magdala Cresecent

I used to live in a village called Oakley in Bedfordshire and that had/has a street called:
Rufse Furze (Furze is an old English word for field I believe).
I liked a street I found in Birmingham when I first moved here - it got me singing in my car...
I'm gonna rock down to..
Electric Avenue
...and then I'll take it higher
Also, there is a back street in Kings Norton Birmingham called...
Back Street
And also surely one of the main thoroughfares in Glasgow...
Sauchiehall Street

This thread would seem to evoke mainly British/Irish answers. Still i suppose you can`t say much about 5th. ave or 21st. street or 2163rd.street can you? Our cousins over the water seem to have lost their imagination when it came to naming things. (hence the duplication of our names, shh.)

There's a road a few miles away called 'Pratt's Lane'. I sometimes wonder who the pratt was that named it!
