The Fonz, of course - whenever, at the beginning of Happy Days, he realises his hair is perfect - he walks away with the prize...
Putting fiction to one side - Hunter S Thompson. Or maybe Neal Cassady.

Jeff Goldblum.
I'm sorry, but anyone who can make a hideous transformation into a human fly (via general degredation and physical humiliation) look like such a nonchalant act gets my vote.

I think the Fonz also comes close But by cool do you mean best-looking with sunglasses or just greatest person ever?
What about Mr Freeze from Batman?

If it was greatest persons we would probably be talking Mother Theresa and the like. But if they need some sort of coolness, Oscar Wilde seems like a better candidate. And what about that World´s First Cynic guy. I just can´t remember his name right now. Demokritus? And Rosseau was kind of cool too.

World's First Cynic - I think you mean Diogenes, Xanatic.
Heraclitus was pretty cool too. He deserves a mention in any pantheon of blissed-out philosophers...

Heraclitus, who was it that was? Was he the guy who divided that river in Homer´s books? But speaking of present guys, I thought perhaps Per Gessle. He seems to me to be the guy closest to having it all, and he can look cool in sunglasses.
