Damned Smileys...

What I wonder is this:
If the previous poster left a message
that just said
Hi, everyone
and then I posted the exact same thing,
have I committed plagiarism? Or is a
smiley considered so generic and standardized
that it represents no intellectual content whatsoever?
If the latter, then why would people be afraid of
(or discinclined) to say anything that expresses
their uniqueness? A lot of people have really
clever nicknames, so they're obviously not
trying to hide their lights under bushels in
that way.
Smileys are fine to break up the monotony
of a huge slug of text. That's the way I
like to use them .

That's very clever - if you squint hard to look at it.

VERY clever - but I think that some people have entirely too much time on their hands
*applauds anyway*

People who put smileys after their names (like a kind of signature) are successful, intelligent and make better lovers.
