Surreal programming on the BBC
Rainbow (Slug no longer) Posted May 21, 2001
It's funny how cheerleading, which is so increadibly popular in the US, never really caught on in the UK. When I was at school it was always seen 'not the thing to do' - so no-one did it!!

thats a point, how many other countries have cheerleading. or is it one of those sports that only america has like grid iron and baseball. i often wonder how either of these sports got a world series when no one else plays them.
Surreal programming on the BBC/Election Satire
Rainbow (Slug no longer) Posted May 22, 2001
I love the way in good old Blighty once an election is called, no 'political' programs are allowed (unless they are party political broadcasts), therefore all the satirical comedy has to cease - until 10 p.m. on election night, the moment the pollings stations close, when there is a sudden influx of political comedy on the telly whilst the votes are being counted.
What intrigues me is do they honestly believe that the electorate will be swayed by comedians such as Harry Enfield poking fun at the establishment? And if they do, they obviously have little faith in their own policies and abilities....
