There obviously various and multitude opinions on this subject(covering god and religion), as to everyone's own beliefs, I am putting this in a HUMOUROUS context(as normal)and I hope that anyone reading this, takes it in a light hearted view. So don't get uppity about itI don't want to be struck down by a lightening bolt ok!
If as they say!, a "creator" made Adam and then Eve, how come they had English names ?
Adam's apple - who named that, I can see Eve saying how come you got one and I haven't ? knowing all about medical stuff, before knowing what clothes were ?
Who taught them language, if they were the first two on the planet.(without reading and writing the next lesson)
(Its a fact, that children who are brought up feral, will "talk" and act like the dogs they've co-habited with(as seen on television programs)and after the approx age of 9 yrs, they're brains can no longer learn as such)
So were Adam and Eve barking mad or what ?

...And if she noticed his *neck* was different, giving us the Adam's Apple, why do we not also have Adam's tomatoes and cucumber (courgette/cumberland sausage/chipolata - sorry, History doesn't record detals), and Eve's Melons (grapefruit/lemons/tomatoes/fried eggs)?

The way I see things is that foreign names often have an equivalent or if they don't they are made up. For example, 'pierre' is 'peter' when translated. Mind you 'pierre' can also mean rock. Language is passed on so someone will invent up a name that will stick with people who then pass it down the generations as it is told to one another. Language changes over time we no longer say 'ye olde' but use slang and other ways of saying the same things. The bible has been passed down a number of generations and remember things weren't necessarily written down at all at the beginning of time. People have probably changed things, added and embellished and I think the Victorians probably converted it into the form we know today.

Nah, it was James VI who had the best selling version of the Bible published and all modern translations use ancient greek, latin and hebrew texts.
Plus it was meant to be a joke

I can't help but think in terms of a syncretic comparison and contrast of the mid-east and northern Gaelic traditions on Lilith, Adam's first wife, the one who threw him over* before he went on to get a job as a groundskeeper in the Garden of Eden and God fixed him up with Eve.
The mideast version is a classic example of what they call 'demonization'.
The northern Gaelic tradition reveres Lilith as one of the great progenitors of humankind.
Both sets of accounts agree that she had flaming red hair and fiery temper.
*There's considerable potential for dramatization in this.

All I know is
God lives in the smallest room in my house and I am not going to argue that one with my wife cause she's the one that chases the dyson all over our house

Dr. Anthea,
My own interest being syncretic, I spend quite a lot of time on the esoteric and archaic.
The process of demonization I remarked on above extended over the morbidly repressive era of the dark ages and the middle ages had, among other effects, the effect changing the genders of many of the classical divinities who became demons over the term. (one of the best documentations of this I've seen has to do with the evolution of Ishtar, or "Ostara" as she was called in the northern Gaelic tradition, into the masculine 'Ashtaroth' of the medieval demonologies.)
Something similar to this happened with the Archangel Michael, in context of the Patriarchial dominance of the age. I believe the "Fatima Michelle" is one and the same.

I commented only from my sadly limited understanding of the religions
in the religion to which i belong we actually believe that the angel Michael became Adam and that at some point we were all as to angels and became as to man to become closer to god IE having a body
though i admit that i do find the progression of religions charectors/ idols to be interesting.

No one knows it all. Syncretic comparisons are always open to debate and interpretation, founded on questions resolvable only by means of archaeological investigation if at all. Joseph Campbell once wrote a book touching on a few of the issues which he titled "The Flight of the Wild Gander".
