Am I Isaiah, or is he me?

As I understand it, he's currently serving, where-as I relinquished the uniform of my country nearly 8 years ago.

He may or may not be in the London, England area. I've been to London, Ontario but now live about 217 miles (348 km) away in Trenton, ON.

He's got 2 little ones that run his home. I managed to marry-off my one and only.

And the final conclusive proof ... I am by far the more handsome of the two. In my own totally unbiased opinion. smiley - laugh

Or you could give my PS a once-over. It mostly says who and what I am. smiley - smiley

You, on the other hand, are a somewhat mad smiley - pirate wench that I have see around a number of threads. Some of them not exactly reputable. smiley - evilgrin

Anyway, hiya, I'm Nick.

Oh jeez, not ANOTHER Steve? I'm gonna need a score card soon, just to keep track. smiley - laugh

Your PS mentions limited time for h2g2, and so limited "circles". Milady isn't too found of me spending long hours here when I'm home. Besides which, by the time my supper is done, most of the fun people are decently asleep. And the really indecent ones, well, ...

If you haven't already been there, the "Anyone want a chat" thread in <./>MiscChat</.> has a variety of nutters, ... smiley - erm ... I mean, fun peoples. smiley - smiley

And with the assortment of uniformed and contracted co-workers now in, my time here becomes sporadic again. Have a fun "dig". smiley - smiley

AYEBEE PW - RIP TERRI

have i caught you in one of your sporadic moments then?? lol
our friend phoned me up and left a message..not happy that i have seemingly joined the posse! actually i have no real opinion either way. if people want to write dalmations i say fair play.. just wish i had that kind of time!!

anyway. how's the weather over there Nick?
i have family in Amherstberg.. so i know where that is. and i've been to Toronto, but my main love of Canada lies in the Rockies and Vancouver i'm afraid. do i need educating??

I kinda come and go during the working day. Mostly depending on how co-operative h2g2 is. smiley - laugh

Today, we started with some freezing drizzle, but that has turned to simple rain. We're having a really mild winter so far, ... relatively speaking. Which is fine by me. If I don't have to crank up my snowblower and clear 6 - 10 inches of the white stuff, I'm content. smiley - smiley

I've lived and worked in a number of parts of Canada, and found charm and beauty in every one of them. The only places I have an actual dislike for are the bigger cities, like Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg. For a kid from a village of maybe 350 people, they are just too BIG !!!

AYEBEE PW - RIP TERRI

ahh. you're same as me then
i would be the same. i like the open spaces
i live in Dublin Ireland and not in the city. out by the sea, nice beachs and good walks

when i was in canada i stayed with my cousin in Calgary, then drove bout 11 hours (in a jeep with a very excitable/slobbery retriever who just had to get out every time we saw a lake,(which as you know is very often in that terrain!!) then get back in and shake and slobber again, was fun) to Penticton where my aunt lives.
we took a trip to Vancouver and the island.. i just loved it and now that i have my own kids i plan to take them back and perhaps do a train trip through the rockies or something..

hope you have a good day. catch you later

My parents have driven through and around the western provinces a number of times. My Mom having a lot of cousins in Saskatchewan. But this past October, being a bit older (Dad is 71, Mom is 69) they opted to fly to Alberta, and then took the tour-train up and through the Rockies. They both absolutely loved it.

Have yourself a fine, fun, and mostly harmless day. smiley - smiley

G'morning. I'm about 20 minutes from leaving for work. smiley - groan

And I'll have to give the car any extra warming time, ... That -20C makes it a bit reluctant to roll. Imagine that, eh? smiley - laugh

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

Well, I know which camp of the "love it or hate it" you are in. smiley - laugh I'd heard enough about marmite around this h2g2 thingie, and found that our local grocer carries it. I very much enjoy it, as does our male-smiley - cat. The missus and the Lady-smiley - cat simply find themselves somewhere else. smiley - rofl

So in general terms, where's your "here" with the balmy 1 degree weather?

I am sooooo confuzzled ...

Post 14

AYEBEE PW - RIP TERRI

dublin, the Irish Dublin!! smiley - biggrin

balmy me arse!!
and yes you can keep the marmite
my current fave is either hot toasted buttery cinnamon/raisin bagel and big mug of Tea or plain bagel toasted, with philly cheese and coarse cut marmalade.. (try it before you diss it)..
is marmite supposedly marmaladey then? whats it made out of?

smiley - pirate

I am sooooo confuzzled ...

Post 15

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

So far as I can gather, marmite is simply a strong spread made from yeast products, ... after they've worked hard making beer, ale or other more important beverages. There are a few pages here on h2g2 about it. (Similar, but better than the Aussie vegemite, in my opinion)

Personally, I'm not much for jams or marmalades. Not my "cup of smiley - tea", so to speak. But we always have a couple of varieties in the house.

AYEBEE PW - RIP TERRI

here's a nice recipe
(tho i try not to think about black pudding and what it's made of..)

nice big dollop of mash, laced with black pepper and lightly sauted finely chopped onions..
on top of that 2 generous slices of finest irish black puddin or white , but white's not as nice....
and onion marmalade.. it's kind of like a really posh brekkie the likes of which you'd only be served in a hotel in excess of 400 per night. u know the ones!! v tasty ...(obligatory big mug of tea)

I am sooooo confuzzled ...

Post 17

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

That combination DOES sound quite yummy. But I guess I'm not likely to find it in any of those posh places. I understand that there is some kinda international ordnance precluding me from being within 5 km of any such. smiley - laugh

So just as a btw, ... How many hours of study, and how much of it was "on the job training" for your honorary degree? smiley - evilgrin

AYEBEE PW - RIP TERRI

many many hours, days and nights have been wasted, i mean spent constructively in the peni thread and the like and i think this has contributed in the most part; wonderful breeding ground for us types...
(one of) you should dip in and leave yer mark, you never know.. Sir RF might bestow another of his wondrous degrees on you

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

I'm quite familiar with the peni people. Been there and posted perhaps 7 or 8 times, in the first weeks it was around. In fact, I was the one that pointed it out to Tsarina, knowing she'd enjoy it. smiley - biggrin

Pssst...

Keep her talking while I switch our identities round.

This will fox her...I'm going to pretend to be Meter Maid for the next 2 days.

Now, if I can just get these tights on...

What? They go on my LEGS??? Who'd have thought that...
