Gravity plays favourites to no one, eh? smiley - laugh As I mention on occassion, I've the same hour-glass figure I did when I was 25. But now, the sands are sttling ... smiley - rofl

For meself, I've gone and done my bit of voting for our national elections. And now settled back with a few sips of brandy. Milady brought home a nasty cold/flu combo bug. So we're both trying to shed it...

We don't have paracetomol by that name, but Tylenol and Aspirin are close enough. So a bit of that, a good hot drink with some of this and that ... (My own may have a bit of 12-year-old scotch whiskey smiley - winkeye)

Yes, I heard about some bean-counter in Cardiff having determined that today is the ideal day for a hanging, an over-dose, or what-ever. For me, it's a common Monday and I'm just as "up" as ever. I try to not let much seriously get me down. What's the good in allowing stuff to weigh ya down, moping and whingeing, eh?

And if I do find myself in a grey-mood, I hunt down a nutter or two around here ... smiley - laugh

I'm stay at home dad this afternoon, so that's a possibility.

Who gets custody of the body this evening? I was looking to take the wife to see a film, so if I can sign it out for three hours, that would be great...

Well, as your evening is my afternoon, ... And my afternoons are essentially 'government time', ... I'd say I'm free enough to absorb a few extra hours.

So what's the film tonight? "Indianna's Apocalypse over the River Kwai", starring none other than in all major roles ...

Memoirs Of A Geisha.

And if He shows up in that I will be impressed. And possibly violently ill.

Mind you, it may feature a noble Samurai called Wolf Sword Ninja...it's a common name amongst the follwers of Bushido I gather.

I take it there's not a lot of imagination in character names, eh? smiley - rofl

Hmmmmm, I wonder how many roles he played in Shogun?

All of the noble ones.

For He is a gentleman.

And not a rampant liar, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

So you liked the flick, did ya? I haven't really heard or seen much about it, but then, I don't catch a lot of telly.

Brokeback is a fab film, but not for everyone ..
it's about 2 out of work cowboys that meet on the day they take a job to herd sheep up on brokeback mountain (supposedly in wyoming but actually filmed Calgary and the rockies) for the summer, and they end up .. well. falling in love.. men prob find it an uncomfortable film to watch which is a shame because the acting is superb and theres not much 'action' as such.

i would say there'll be at least an oscar in the offing for it.. Heath Ledger is fantastic.

now. there's me little critique over 'n' done with
hows your day?

The day is getting on. It was nasty cold out this morning, and of course the heat at work was also smiley - bleepd. So the shop was at 15C when I came in. But it's nearly comfortable again.

The "Golden Globe" awards were last week, I think. And before it all started, I thought I heard the talking heads expecting high marks for Brokeback Mountain. Personally, I'd have no problem with the content. But since I almost never get to a theatre, I don't 'spect to know until sometime when we might rent it out.

Good film. Mind you, it had Ziyi Zhang in it, so it's watchable anyway. Fantastic set design but littered with more Chinese actors than you can shake a stick at. It diverges from the book too, apparently. I've not read it, but the wife has and I found her tutting away at one or two bits.

Not as good as Brokeback Mountain, which I went to see last week and was genuinely bowled over by. I didn't think it would live up to the hype surrounding it, but it's an excellent film. Cracking performances from both leads.

When I told my dad I'd been to see it he accused me of being "on the turn". Odd old fella, my dad.

Ah, yer allowed to be on the turn. Many modern militaries "condone" and accept it. Besides, how else could you properly sport those melons? smiley - laugh

Glad you've enjoyed the flicks. I've not been much of a movie goer. Maybe because they were strictly a once-a-year thing as I grew up. Far too many miles to a theatre for a family of eight, on the wages of a self-employed plumbing and heating contractor. (Who, of course, moonlighted as a ninja when time allowed)
