The SMURFS!!!!

Post 1

They are small, they are blue, they can sing, and they live in little mushrooms. What more could you want from a cartoon at the age of 4 or 40? Nothing, I say.

I was in love with The Smurfs, but as a little girl, I never picked up on the fact that it might be weird for one female smurf to live in a village with 50 male smurfs. These are things you think about later in life, such as, how did the mating process work in that village?

And you know there had to be mating going on, because there was "baby smurf." Unless of course, smurfs are produced asexually from the mushroom houses, or something like that.

Anyway, asexual reproduction aside, the smurfs never failed to make me smile, in the past or even now. And who can resist singing along to the catchy tune? "La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la."

And finally, it was mark of literary brilliance to have the word smurf be a noun, verb, adjective and adverb. Very smurfy indeed.
