I can vaguely. I can't remember whether it was on TV or in a comic the guy with the single wheel that used to whizz about. Was that Torchy?

Talking of 'Bod', the extremely catchy music that accompanied his character is currently used on an advert, although I can't remember the product. All of the different characters in Bod, had different music to accompany there presence on screen.
This format was also used on 'The Herbs', remember them? Parsley the Lion, Dill the Dog, etc....

The Traveller Posted Mar 16, 2004
Does anyone remember the 70,s surreal children,s programme Crystal Tips and Alastair.Or for that matter the "social realism" of Mary,Mungo and Midge which was one of the first cartoons to feature
a child living in a tower block who had to get a lift to the top floor and whose mother was never around. Also I seem to remember a large dog and a talking mouse were two of the characters in Mary,Mungo and Midge.

Big Bad Johnny P Posted Mar 17, 2004
I think Mungo was the dog and Midge the mouse?
I also seem to remember Midge standing on Mungo's nose to press lift buttons.
I remember watching Crystal Tipps & Alastair, but nothing about it apart from that child's weird hair

Emma Thompson's dad used to be the voice for Magic Roundabout. I met him once when I was helping out at a book day at a primary school.

wimblin Posted Mar 18, 2004
I have some Mary, Mungo & Midge on DVD, narrated by the former newsreader Richard Baker.
Crystal Tips and Alistair was about a girl and a dog. I had a perm once and my friends said I looked like Crystal Tips.
Not sure about the Fat Tullips. When was that?
Easily remember Bod & we all loved Mr Ben. Didn't they make a film about it with John Hannah as Mr Ben?
There's even going to be a film of Thunderbirds. I sometimes think film makers are rapidly running out of ideas. Absolutely dire idea. Ruin a cult programme. How could they. . I need a

I've said this on another thread but I'll say it again. Thunderbirds came out as an adult prog. I had to have permission to stay up and watch it as it was on at 8 pm on a Friday night and that was normally my bedtime.

The Traveller Posted Apr 13, 2004
It,s probably not true but years ago in a daily newspaper there was a story that a film was going to be made of The Thunderbirds and that Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis were going to play two of the characters. There was a photo of the puppet of Parker the chauffer next to a photo of Noel Gallagher and do you know the resemblance was canny!

The Traveller Posted Apr 13, 2004
OOps can,t type the last line should read the resemblance was uncanny.
oh, the memories!!!!
wimblin Posted Apr 14, 2004
I'm still hearing about films being made of Thunderbirds.
Anyway.........back to the subject matter in hand. Rainbow, Chorlton & the Wheelies. Anyone remember Issi Noho? He was a panda who lived in a box. The name came from the lettering on the box, thIS SIde up use NO HOoks.
What about the Whatsit of Whizzbang? Haven't found anyone who remembers that one yet.
