h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Today, I had a shock. I received a phone call this afternoon from my sister, saying that Mum had taken a bad turn and that the family should attend the hospital.

What did I do? Firstly, I phoned VV to tell her to WALK to the hospital down the road NOT DRIVE. Since when has she ever listened to me?

Next I contacted VC's dental practise and asked them to call her out of the surgery and explain why her Step-Dad was coming to pick her up.

Then I phoned Hubby at work and completely went into jibberish. But he heard me say Mum - Hospital - pick up VC!

God!! I love that man!

I left an illegible text message to one friend and SHOUTED another message to a friend on msn. Then I logged out to wait for Hubby to turn up for me.

At the hospital my sister and VV were outside using their mobiles. As we pulled up VV opened my door and as I was getting out she was telling me Mum was okay - that she was improving - Then the floodgates opened!!!

Mum is very poorly. She is beginning to hallucinate with the lack of oxygen, and now they think she has another clot on her lung.

When she saw us all there she said "Anyone would think I was dying"

She says she will be home at the weekend!

That's my Mum!

that's a powerhouse, a mum and a half, my thoughts and wishes are with you

Cals brother, Jacks cancer, and now this?! You people are trying to make me crack.

Oh Lil... I wish there was something I could say to make it better...

Good to know lil...wasn't really worried, just concerned more than anything.

Just heard, Mum had a restful night and she is being fully monitored on 30 minute observations.

These times are always trying and a real emotional rollercoaster. My sincere thoughts go to all your family, you are all very lucky to have each other as you seem to do a tremendous job of supporting each other. s all round. (Does your mum know she has all these weirdos sending her best wishes from around the globe?).

lil, can explain what an 'illegible text message' is? One that isn;t going to get married?

Actually Mum did say "Have you left your computer to see me?" I don't know what she could possibly mean by that
