h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

As we now have established meets in Hull - Yorkshire and London, there are some hootooers who for various reasons are unable to travel to either(all over the country unfortunately).
but, as follows for a few up t'north I therefore ask that this thread be open to all, for comments etc for a meet somewhere in Lancashire for those who can only travel short distances within their area of the country

May I be the first to propose a meet in Preston. I may be biassed somewhat, but I beleive that it would be a great meet. For the intellectual there are the Harris Museum and the County and Regimental Museum, there is a large Travel Lodge to stay in, and am impressive Weatherspoons pub (The Greyfriar {Named after the Monks who founded Preston in the eleventh or twelveth century}) for us to eat and drink in.For the shopaholics there are two large shopping centres, and many other independant stores. There also a good half dozen pubs selling enough varieties of 'Real Ale' to sink a Battleship!!!
