One of our cars is called Black Sky (Vivaro) and the other Sir Toby (Mini). We also have a tree in the garden called Simon.

Well, we have 4 children and I thought that they might look after these things better by giving them names - names equals souls?? They have feelings, etc. like people.

Apart from cars, does anyone else do this? Or am I (we) crazy??

All our computers have female names: Mary, Frederika, etc.

Our rabbits - that hops occasionally - is called rabbit.

I haven't got a guitar, but if I did I would probably call it Jimmy!

In big brother they had a place in the garden called Over There, or something. Great name for a place in the garden. "I'll meet you over there!"

My mother in law calls her car Gladys. She remembers the reg number by calling Gladys A Very Nice Friend. When Gladys needs new tyres mother in law says that she needs new shoes. Now when mother in law goes to the doctor it is she who has an MOT. Gladys is 16 years old and has just managed 10,000 miles on her clock.

My beautiful American fridge is called "Big Guy" and when my husband was a courier our little red van was named Fred and when we got a larger white van he was called Barry.

I also have a stone and his name is George.

Hi Beatrice ... please don't tell me what you keep in Fred - the imagination is enough for my poor heart!!

If you get a knock at the front door, people wearing white suit, go with them peacefully.

Any body else got pet stones??

They do, hardly eat anything. Don't complain or die if you forget to give water. Low maintenance. They need very little exercise. Just a kind word now and again and they will keep your doors open, or your papers from flying away for years.

Any idea what you will call him/hersmiley - biggrinsmiley - biggrin? or will you wait and see what kind of personality he/she has? Be careful when you are choosing that you don't end up getting the runt of the litter.

i think a male one would be good company but i need to see what he's like first and then pick an appropriate name, i couldn't cope with a runty one which constantly demands attention!! there has to be a little bit of independence there.

I can see you are taking this whole pet rock thing seriously, which is good. I think a male is a good idea, you won't have to watch your language around him and you can giggle and boy stuff together.
