Well after todays news, I was wondering if there are any yank's here. Because I would like to ask them how they feel about ISRAEL. My personal oppinion is that things will not begin to get better until the US starts to withdraw from pandering to the Israelis every whim.
When will the US realise that by not actively giving support to the people of Palestine against the oppression they suffer from the Isrealis. And do something to stop the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian peoples out of that area, then there will never be any peace between the west and the Islamic comunities. I is a dreadfull thing that has happened in Bali, but I do hope that the WEST, that includes Europe as well as the US, will sit up and take notice that they must take some responsibility for what has happened. We must accept that we have failed the Muslim peoples around the world in helping them improve their lifes. I hear you scream they do not want western ideas, western democracy and capitalism in their lifes. But they must also accept evolution and enter the 21 century along with the rest of the world. If life is to improve and blossom in this century we must go forward as a nation of humans not individuals, we may have our individual ideas and desires but this should be charged to the good of the human race and that means acceptance of all cultures. For the good of the future child, it is our time to make a difference, so give the person next to you a hug, and lest hug one random person tomorrow, someone you do not know maybe an idea. Hug a person of different culture to yourself and then think was that really so bad. This goes out to all peoples of the world.
Thank you.

I suppose it would have been too much hassle for you to have previewed your post and perhaps done more research than read whatever tabloid newspaper that you happen to read.

Scratch the last 'read' and put in a 'pick up'.

Er yeah, Captain_SpankMuki, that pretty much sums up the attitude of every tabloid newspaper in the UK.
He did call it a "rant", which means it's not going to be carefully laid out with bullet points, but I don't see how you could link it to Tabloid culture. Would you like a cup of ?

I would love a cup of but I'm trying to cut out caffeine.

No, devoid of reasoned argument is where I draw the parallels with UK tabloid newspapers.
Marking a comment as 'rant' does not mean that one should avoid the use of logic or fact.

I posted this elsewhere but...............
Attacking Aussies just makes them harder, the Islamic Jihad just shot themselves in the foot, if they think we will bow down to terrorism.

Hi, Rod. Hi, folks.
Here we go again!
Short rebuttal rant from a 'Yank':
Check out how the Kuwaitis treated Palestinians after the Iraqi retreat.
The Israeli's, if you forget their putative Jewishness, have learned to fit in very well in their neighborhood. Take out the word Israel and insert Iran or Iraq or Jordan or any 'arabic' nation and you wouldn't blink an eye. Give it a rest. If Israel suddenly disappeared tomorrow, do you think the Palestinians would be allowed self-determination by the other governments in the region? The Palestinians are the 'hostages' and the 'prisoners' of the entire region. As long as the Palestinians can be used to irritate the Israelis and the Israeli behavior can be focussed upon to the exclusion of an honest overview of the entire region, then the rest of the Arab countries can keep the world and the Palestinians from remembering that Egypt, Jordan and Syria got their butts kicked by a tiny nation that is not even supposed to exist. Three times.
The 'oppression' is the oppression of reality in favor of a threadbare fairy tale.
With reference to Bali, I think that is a whole other topic, which I am not even remotely knowledgeable to comment on.
I am aware of the event, as aware as news reports can make me.
I am appalled.
The PM's saying that they will not give in to a hot-headed response, but this is not the kind of thing that you can roll up into a ball and hope it will go away seemed to be a good idea.
I would be very wary of attempting to connect the Bali incident with US policy and Israel.
