WHY?...

...isn't the grass blue and the sky green.
...is wood brown until you paint it.
...don't you ever get green flowers.
...isn't our skin purple.
above are just a few of my queries that i'd like to be answered.

Inquisitive aren't you.
Do you seriously want answers?

You can make green flowers by injecting dye into them but I don't think green flowers would be very pretty even though green happens to be my favorite color

The purpose of the colors of flowers is so they stand out to various pollinating creatures. If they were green, they'd go unnoticed amidst the rest of the foliage.

You can turn your skin purple if you eat nothing, except for those black, charcole based dog biscuits. Mmmmm..

Unless of course you include a line at the end of the post that says "please don't respond to this post, I was board and only posted it because I was board. I do not wish for anybody to reply and will not read any replys if they do happen to come"
Then again, including such a line would probably generate more replies then the post itself

I'm not
I find that some people get very interesting when they are bored.
I know that I get very strange when I am board and many poeple actually like my strangeness. Of course I am weird all of the time but when I am board I get stranger

Sometimes, having nothing to write about at all, is the most liberating, creative experience a brain can go through. For example, right now, I could type anything that my fuddled old mind is capable of conjouring up, and so long as it doesn't offend the cute and cuddly, all-seeing moderators, and...I've forgotten what I was talking about. You see.
Completely meaninglessnesslessnessness.

Sounds like a quote from that film critic Mark Cousins... Lucky swine. He gets paid for his etymological diversificationmentness, most of which is of course utter rubbish.
I want to be paid for my ennui... anyone? please?

Of course none of the above addresses the question of why wood is brown. I read the explanations for flowers not being green, and now I have learnt that eating nothing but charcoal dog biscuits will turn me purple (really? Why?) and I already knew why grass is green and the sky is blue - but what about the wood thing?
I'd never really worried about it until SnowDrop asked, but now the question has been raised I want to know.
