Greetings. This is certainly a facinatiing society, and it is comendable that you're latin motto is in real latin... alas, I only started learning after I made it up and by then too many people were in the society for me to change it...
You will notice I do this... a lot.
How would I go about aquiring guild protection? Paymet might be along the lines of assisting you to travel in time for some reason or another a some point...

It's all planned out, remember you go forward in time and prove that you did... really there's no point in joining since everyone who's going to joined can be oined before they even know it
