Doctor Steve Gundry's prebiotic supplements.
I had succumbed to click-bait earlier in the day. Gundry is a cardiologist who seems to think he's also a whiz at nutrition. Or just wants a lucrative line of products linked to the current demand for probiotics. Probiotics are the trillions of bacteria that live in everybody's digestive system. Gundry says taking probiotic products is useless if the bacteria have nothing nourishing to eat once they get into your gut. What do they eat? The same old boring whole grains and legumes that nutritionists have been urging them to eat for the last 50+ years. But that's not going to make money for Gundry and his associates. So they have to find unusual foods that don't get eaten every day -- jicama root, chicory, raw asparagus, raw onions. It's going to seem like a lot of work to seek these out, so Gundry will make it easier for people to get their prebiotics by offering dietary supplements under his name. I bet his products aren't heap!
I plan to keep on eating my whole grain breakfast cereals and legumes.

I loved that "Sleeper" scene too. Steaks and cream pies have risen in estimation since Woody Allen made that movie. I never cared much for wheat germ, and I never tasted "tiger's milk." There's a tiger's milk bar that's heavy on peanut and soy proteins.
