Chester's quite nice to be stranded in! Hope you make it safe home....eventually.

Being stranded anywhere is a nuisance. Doesn't Chester have a cathedral that is worth a visit?

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office Posted May 16, 2011
Yup. I had a glance at it. Didn't go in, though. Train to Holyhead in half an hour, so leaving libary and wandering stationward as soon as I've made this post. It's a very pretty town. I must come back.
TRiG.

It was a wonderful meet, wasn't it, Bel?
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all my friends - both the ones I'd met before and the new ones such as paulh who I talk to regularly but had not met. I think I managed to get a good chat with just about everybody.
And it was nice to have your company, along with TRiG and SuperFrenchie, on Sunday.
I always feel sad when I head back to normal life, but I have my photos to look forward to. If they're any good, they'll remind me of the happy times.
Not that home life isn't happy as well - it just seems a little bit dull after the excitement of the meet.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side... Posted May 16, 2011
Back to normality today for me, with baking bread.... and I'll try remember get the correct* ingrediants in and try the Irish soda bread some time soon... It might work better when I use the right ingrediants Though I did make a kind of meet-inspired experimental flat bread today, which came out well and will go nicely with my dinner tonight

TriG, hope all goes well from now on.
Gnomon, RL got me back a lot faster than I appreciate, but I agree, the photos and my memories will remain. And I'm sure there'll be another meet at some point, somewhere.

It sounds like a good time was had - as usual. I'm sorry to have missed it, but currently RL is attacking me from several directions at once and I just couldn't attend this one.
Thank you to you and other attendees who have already written about it or put up pictures, and I look forward to the Post report.

I missed you, coely.
I went through the whole pub looking for you (I must have missed that you said you couldn't come). Hopefully better luck next meet.

Gnomon's pictures and Bel's give us a good idea of who was there and the brilliant weather we all had last weekend.
My reason for not going is that I was in the UK just 2 weeks before and had 2 rather interesting things going on that weekend. Otherwise, very little could stop me coming, and I am really looking forward to the next one - surely we could have one here in Germany, say, in the autumn?!

That would be nice. Question would be: where in Germany?

It's the North's turn. Wasn't Hannover our alternative to Mannheim when choosing last year's venue? And - do you realise that's exactly a year ago now!

Gnomon - time to move on Posted May 17, 2011
It's more than a year, because it was my birthday, and that's been and gone this year. Hannover sounds nice but not easy to get to from Dublin.

We could also move the meet to Hamburg, which should be easy to reach for just about everybody coming by plane or bus
It's a nice and green city with more waterways than Amsterdam and Rotterdam combined
A boat trip though the habour is recommendable. There is also the zoo (Hagenbecks) and the park Planten un Blomen ( = plants and flowers) and the Fernsehturm (tv-tower)

I agree - Hamburg is more accessible. They're both a good train ride away for me, but if it's Germany, I should have no excuse not to come.
