it's my first day back at work today as well, but ive spent all day looking at photo's on the radio 1 site, and anyway its no reason to feel down just look around at the people in your work and know that they have no idea of what you experienced at the weekend, something they couldnt begin to understand, then when you've finished today go home, skin up, close your eyes and BELIEVE, the force of avalon is strong my friend. Roll on glasto 2004

Oh well, at least I've got the adventure sports festival in a fortnight...
Nowhere near as good as Glasto, but its a chance to live in a tent and take a f*ck load of drugs.
Oh, and all those skater chicks better watch out...
Any particular bits of Glasto stand out, White rabbit? and which year did you go before? check out my journal for my Glasto entry...

last year was my first year. the highlights for me this year were prbably taking acid on friday and just seeing the sun come down over the pyramid stage was some really magical experience, a lot of drugs were taken and went a long way to enhancing the experience but i dont think they were essential; Obviously Radiohead were outstanding but they werent my favourite band, that had to go to love with arthur lee, the man is a genius and is finally starting to get some of the recognition he deserves.
i camped in the leftfield right next to the one world stage and just a stones throw from the green field so i took a lot more of that side of the festival in this year as well
all in all i think i have just had the best weekend of my life and i think the same could be said for the majority of the people theer, the overall goodtime feeling that came from anyone you bumped into was overwhelming, one thing that sticks out is on the friday on acid i struck up a conversation with some bloke in the urinals and then just started gigling for about half an hour at how brilliant it was that you could just talk to someone taking a piss next to you and feel a real bond with them.
i think next year im probably going to run away with some hippies and drop out of real life for a few years

arwen, doing nasty essays. being a student should *not* involve work! Posted Jul 2, 2003
yep, sounds good to me.
pencil queen-my friends thought you were great! they were sorry not to see you again actually! did any of them scare you? they can be v weird.
been watching the highlights that my parents vidoed-our flag got on tele loads on sunday!! they didn't show jools holland tho, which was annoying, coz i was only about 3 people back from the front.
thinking about getting tickets for the abbey extravaganza, cos he was incredible.
did you see sunrise in the end bob? we nearly did, think we got back to the tent around 4. will do next year tho. can't wait!!

PQ Posted Jul 2, 2003
No - they didn't scare me, the carrots did worry me though - did you eat all of that food in the end?
Got your message from Sun night on monday when I got home.
Still haven't persuaded hubby to come next year...can't imaginge why everyone in the world doesn't want to come...I've mentioned the greenwich uni stand to my boss in the hope we can have a soton one next yr and I can get in for free...that would be so funny - putting in my expenses
Think my mum will be up for it next yr - but it will mean spending more time looking for bands instead of spending hours giggling at the back of the caberet tent...also she's a bit funny about drugs so I might need to give her a few lessons.
Did anyone else see the remote control wheely bin on the railway track - it was running at people and spraying them with a windscreen wiper spray?

Phil Posted Jul 2, 2003
Damn! I seemed to have missed the wheelie bin.
Send your mum of to look for the bands and then go and sit in the back of the cabaret tent anyway

BobTheFarmer Posted Jul 2, 2003
Sit her in the stone circle and get her to buy one of each thing offered to her, that'll give her a lesson in druges...
Missed the wheelie bin, my farourite nutter was definately *sh*t acid* guy...

I saw the wheelie bins! Sidney and Nancy! They were great, freaking out loads of people! Also walked down the railway track after dawn, did you hear the bird song? very trippy!
Still trying to post my glasters account, but for some reason i get a "can't find server" message if i try and post more than a paragraph!
Z.
Glad everyone else seems to be having a hard time re-adjusting to RL
