Now that the photo gallery is well under way I thought I should start a new journal entry with the link on the first page:
http://public.fotki.com/azahar/h2g2_friends/
To add your photo(s) to the gallery you can either post a link here or send me one by email:
azaharh2g2 (at) yahoo (dot) com
Let me know if you would like a caption put below your photo. And if you ever change your mind about having your photos in the gallery then I will delete them for you. Once your photo is on a page I cannot 'replace' it, though I could remove it if you like and add a new one to the latest page. Or simply add another photo if you find another one you would like to have in the gallery.
The original photo gallery thread is here: F119314?thread=420158 in case you haven't seen it and would like to read the comments from others who are already in the gallery.
And tell your friends! At the moment this is a word-of-mouth project, so please don't put the link on 'ask h2g2'. Thanks.
Hope to *see* you soon!

Can you write to me there again? Ta!

Good morning/evening, Helly. I've already got a shot in there from last family when I married off my daughter.
How is life in your region?
And a good morning/noon, Az.

Helelou!
Will look forward to seeing you! Thing is, not all my hootoo friends have me on their friends list so then they obviously won't see my journal entry.
I think you were one of the first people I ever met here on my very first thread I started on 'ask h2g2'. So I thought you might like to be a part of the gallery.

Helelou,
Ivan tells me that you are eight hours ahead of me at the moment. Not sure if and when you do 'summer' or 'winter' hour changes there.

For all and sundry folks, the following site is helpful, ...
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/full.html
By it, I see that Helly is actually 14 hours ahead of us in Ontario, Canada.

Your is accepted. Anyone who finds 15 C chilly must be handled gingerly. I'm more familiar with -15 to -35 C winters.

-35 degree winters, +40 degree summers . How do people cope? Give me a nice steady +20 anyday.

In central Manitoba, the -35 winters are matched by the 35 C summers. I guess we Canadians are just a hearty breed that doesn't necessarily know any better.
But we are very nice, *I keep telling myself*

hi Rev,
Yes, having grown up in up in Manitoba I can back you up there. Serious extremes. Not to mention the summertime mosquitos the size of sparrows!
I'm much happier with the heat extreme here in Seville (often +40º in July and August) *without* the other cold extreme. I could never abide the cold. And -40º (even before taking into account windchill factors) is something most people cannot even imagine.
Lucky for them.

ps - yes, we are rather *nice* aren't we?

I'm still not sure why BC joined confederation. I always wondered, when the settlers had experienced a full year in say, Winterpeg, Land of the Jet Powered Mosquito- why did they stay?
Hello all.

I wonder how they even got *past* Winterpeg! I always assumed that the BC population happened by people coming the long way other way around by boat.
