h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It came up on another thread this evening that I have a very nice private hootoo photo gallery of most of my friends here.

Then I got the idea that I could maybe start a new album on my fotki page and have all you guys in it! For those of you whose photos I already have - would this be okay with you? And for those whose photos I don't have and who would like to be in my photo album, you could send a photo to my hootoo email address:

Nobody can download the fotki photos except me and it is not 'totally' public, only for people who have the link to my page.

Well, let me know what you think! I think it's a lovely idea though I understand that some people prefer to remain 'faceless'.

Once I get this all together and set up the album it will be on my fotki photo link (further down on my journal entries) as the 'h2g2 friends album' or something like that.

But first I need more photos and also permission from those people whose photos I already have. I'll let everyone know on this thread when the album is ready. And of course, it can always be added to.

I prefer to remain photoless for aesthetic reasons--I prefer to create a mental image of what people look like rather than seeing them; I'd prefer that people do the same of me.

If their images don't look much like me, so what?

Sort of "artist's impression"?

Of course, you know you have my permission. I just have to try and find something reasonably "representational" and yet not too embarrassing.

Lemon, that's cool. So I guess you won't be wanting to see the album either? To each their own. I like seeing what people here really look like and usually it has been, if not what I expected, then somehow 'just like them'.
