I tried, but am having no lucke either. I had that problem once before but it resolved itself.
I just got some really terrible, horrible news.
My niece called me to tell me that her 16 year-old step-sister was killed in a fire in Thunder Bay last night.
Jess spent several weeks down here last summer. She was a sweet kid. It is horrifying. My former brother-in-law had to go and identify her body.
Apparently, she and a friend "ran away" for the night from her aunt's house where she had been staying. They, I guess wanted a little adventure. They found an abandonned house and had been there for a while. The freidn went back home to get some blankets and was caught by her parents. They wouldn't let her go back. When they went back this morning, the house had burned to the ground.

That's so sad, Mudhooks. How awful.
I got your email (thanks!) but it seems that all the photos are showing now. Must have been a glitch with Fotki yesterday (and I didn't even have to shift the 'big guys').

Actually, may I share my favourite remark if someone mentions my girth. I always say "I can lose weight, you seem to be stuck with that attitude."
btw, I do "yo-yo" my weight over a period of two or three years.

hi Iago,
You actually like your unicard photo? All my ID photos are pretty scary looking and at least I hope they look nothing like me.
FB,
C'mon now, where's your photo then?
jwf,

6'4" isn't tall? Also, you may remember back when you were 31 that if you exercised regularly you could basically eat and drink whatever you wanted and never put on weight.
*sigh* those days are long gone . . .

zoomer,
Isn't something similar attributed to Churchill when a woman accused him of being drunk. Something like 'yes, madam, but tomorrow I shall be sober while you will still be ugly'.
Yours is somewhat kinder.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted May 14, 2004
Hi az, I'm still thinking about this one - while I am reasonably happy to give people links to my photos I am slightly wary of giving the photos away, simply because if I decide I want to return to obscurity I can stop access to my own photos. Might change my mind though, if I find a picture of me I actually like - have got one from my birthday that I quite like but I am rather so very rosy-cheeked, and the fact that I am posing with a pestle and mortar may serve to confuse...
Great to see everyone else though - will have to go and have another look now everyone's picture has reappeared! Nobody ever looks how I expect, for example Blues is younger than expected (as discovered at the last summer meet) and you are not blonde (have no idea why I thought you were ).

hi Kelli,
How about this? If you ever feel you would like to return to obscurity you can just let me know and I will delete your photo(s).
And you will have no doubt noticed in the photos that since last summer's meet Blues is now sporting some very Armani glasses (purchased in Seville).
Blonde??? Not me, babe.

Closing down the gallery, sal??? Is this going to be some sort of provocative pose involving a pestle and mortar?

Mudhooks: ,,, busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest... Posted May 14, 2004
Thanks, everybody.
I finally found an article about the fire http://www.kenoradailyminerandnews.com/default.html
"No one had lived in the house for 30 years, said Olga's son Dwayne Cyr, adding the house was still in his mother's name.
Dwayne didn't speculate as to how the fire started. "It's not a big deal," he said."
I guess they haven't even told him that there was a death related to it....
Apparently, because they believe it was arson, they haven't released information that she died. Whoever it is will be charged with murder. I am wondering if, however, it wasn't accidental.
My former brother-in-law didn't identify her body. There wasn't a body to identify. Her remains were identified by her dental records. She was a beautiful young girl... It is all too terrible.
Someone has been setting fires in the area. There was another fire in the forest nearby about the same time.
This is what my niece told me this morning when she got more information this morning.
The girls had run away and had spent Tuesday night in the house. They must have been pretty cold if there is still snow on the ground and they didn't have blankets. The friend went home sometime in the afternoon and was caught by her parents. They went to the house at that point to get Jess. When they got there, the house was on fire.
I can only hope that she had been asleep and died of smoke inhalation.
When I was about 6, I witnessed a terrible fire. We had a family living with us. The father was cleaning car-parts in gasoline. He was also smoking. I still remember seeing him trying to put the fire out. He was badly, badly burned. I think he must have been in shock and he was in a panic. I still remember the sights and (even worse), the smells.
Sorry to hijack the thread with this. I have no one to talk to about this just at the moment. Mom is out of town with my sister and my niece is understandibly too distraught.
I will post more info as it happens, but will do so in a new thread.
Again, thanks for your thoughts.
