So who wants a slice of birthday cake?
Laura Started conversation Dec 22, 2003
Well?
My birthday normally gets forgotten as it's so close to a certain other thing. I haven't had a single card in the post this year and one of my housemates thought it was yesterday. However this is my best birthday so far.
Why?
Because this has been the best year so far.
So despite the fact I had birthday presents wrapped in christmas wrapping paper (a pet hate ) and once again most people are away or have completely forgotten as usual I for once don't actualy mind.
The people who have remembered are largely those I've only known for a short amount of time, though I generally feel like I've known them all my life. I feel like I've gained friends rather than been forgotten.
However, there's still lots of and
to get through if anyone wants to give a hand.

Happy Birthday to you

Happy Birthday Dear Laura
Happy Birthday to you!
I've always felt a bit sorry for people with December birthdays. I know several people with festive birthdays, my friend Tracey's eldest daughter will be nine on Christmas Eve and I have already sent her card because I am worried that it will be held up in the Christmas mail. I have another friend whose daughter has a birthday on Christmas Day, and my work colleague Shireen has a birthday on Boxing Day. Luckily, someone in our department found out about Shireen's birthday and we have already given her a card and present.
Have a lovely birthday and Christmas. I hope you get lots of for both. I'm glad you have enjoyed 2003. Here's hoping 2004 is even better.
Liz

. I know, as my Dad's was yesterday, and Mum's is New Years Eve, so I can sympathise
. Anyway, have a good one. Are you away over the Christmas period? I shall be working, but shall drop you a line soon.
Take care, and have a or 10 on me.

Happy birthday ,Unc
I know exactly how you feel, cause my birthday's on Boxing Day, which I think is even worse, I'm used to getting one present meant for x-mas and birthday( given to me on christmas eve but I'm not allowed to unwrap it before my birthday ), or it's either- or, and usually there's nobody round to party with
, but after nearly 42 years of this, I'm just used to it, so don't complain any more

Wooooooooooooooo and
, now that's what i call a party
.
One word of advice though, i'd blow those candles out a bit quick.........the sprinkler system in here's a bit touchy, and 20 candles might just tip it over the edge .
Oh, i nearly forgot, i bought you this........ The man in the shop said it was a magic wish.........use it wisely Unc
.(Still can't get used to you having a real name
)

Happy Birthday Unc!
And welcome to the wonderful world of the twenty-something. You'll soon realise that being a teenager was generally horribly overrated, though I'm pleased to hear your nineteenth year was an honourable exception.
Congratulations!

There's more than half the birthday left and plenty of other
too so plenty going spare.
You're going to be 42 B'Elena
Went to see Return of the King, which took most the day. Seeing one of the films has been what I've done for the last 3 years which means I'll be at a bit of a loss next year.
Yep, I'm now twenty-something . Seems slightly odd as until a few days ago twenty-something was the generalisation of anyone older than me.

Wow, the big wide world of the twenties... I've got three years to go.

Laura Posted Dec 22, 2003
Thanks
I actually had all 20 candles . (It's quite an achievement as I'm not keen on icing, and cream isn't very good at supporting the things)
. They had to sing happy birthday at record speed so I could blow the things out before the cake dissintigrated.
Well, it's a definite improvement on being a teenager (but then I say this after only officially being 20 since 5.30 this afternoon)

Happy Birthday at record speed sounds good to me, I can't stand having it sung to me. It seems to go on forever.
So who wants a slice of birthday cake?
Laura Posted Dec 22, 2003
Sure does . I never know what to do apart from look embarrased.
I'm all for the candles but it would make the whole situation easier if the singing was left out.

Looking embarrassed is the only thing to do. There is no proper way to act, when being sung to, off- key and something that you don't really want to hear.
Key: Complain about this post
