Yeah, it's been kind of quiet over at my RPG, (SHAMELESS PLUG: A989698 ) and I've been trying to shake things up a bit. I wish I could come up with a name. The name currently is "H2G2 RPG", hope I'm not infringing on this club here....

Yeah. I've got a character there. My RPG has different rules than theirs, and there's an actual quest that is actually going on right now. From what I've heard, they're not doing any quests at the moment, though I could be gravely mistaken. Are they?

How exactly do online RPGs work? (I've never been in one.)

Well, I've never been in an online RPG game myself, except for the one going on in the link I gave - have a look at it to see how the story develops
Beforehand, you post your player characteristics in a different thread, so that people will know who you are and what you can do

Yes and of course there are some rules laid down for it that youhave to adheer to. One question remians, how do you do dice rolls?

Eh - I think you pretty much decide yourself how successful your attack is - but it would be very boring if everyone was a superhero. It's much more exciting if one fails every now and then - in which case someone in your party will hopefully be around to help

Ah the old I think therefore I hit syndrome. However it would be quite usewal of the DM to do less combat.
