feeling very depressed trying to give up. I decided to go on the internet and see what i could find out. Came adcross this site where people have posted thier ways of giving up it had me in stiches

As long as it makes you feel less depressed, that can only be a good thing.

I joined Hootoo to give up smoking, that was 4 years ago

Yes it did!

I used Hootoo (the PC is upstairs and I never did smoke there) and nicotine patches. After 10 weeks I was a non-smoker!

I haven't looked back since

Hah, I enjoy my booze and fags, so I will maintain my remaining vices while there is air to breathe and a stomach to fill with beer and wine!

I have been trying to 'manage' my smoking. Since i have moved house, the only place I will smoke now is at the PC.

Of course that is a double edged sword as less smoking is less internet time - until I have got it kicked anyway.

But I found cutting out smoking in the bedroom a small step and one I could cope with, that has now extended to no smoking anywhere but the living room, then only at the PC.

Small steps, but psychologically it has helped to enforce the grip of smoking.

I gave up smoking before I even got a computer, but I still got addicted to h2g2!
