h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

While my extended icky health period has been occuring I have warched the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy uncounted number of times. I also watched Young Frankenstein and Harold and Maude a lot(Thanks Jellen)but not nearly as many times.

I love it more each time.
It is a treat! I did not miss the billions of unspent dollars in special effects either. I think it is wonderful and the special effects they had at the end in particular were perfect.

How many times have others seen it?
Does it lighten your spirits?
Does it kind of grow on you?

Withoout being on the site - it helped also though bittersweet.
Imissed it but maybe not as much , knowing I would be traveling through the galaxy once again!

Red Dwarf was my favourite Sci-Fi comedy series. The special effects were hilarious, and the scripts and dialogue were brilliant. I believe the creators were huge fans of Douglas Adams and took his ideas and thinking to the next level, so to speak...

I've not seen the film and I saw the TV series once. That was OK, but not as good as the radio shows, which were amazing. Your brain provided the special effects.

I have also been proper poorly, and had a rather nasty diagnosis. fortunately I have a reprieve. We are going to have to work quickly if we want to do our wheelchair tour in the Rockies. Do you remember when we planned it!!

I haven't watched either Hitchhiker's in a while; I think I should soon. I also like "Young Frankenstein". I always think of you when I see it.

I have since got myself a new lap top, due to mu old desk top losing its net connection
I made enquiries about repairing it, and upgrading it at the same time and it came to about £400! So I thought I would pay the extra and get a good spec lap top instead

Wilderness on wheels.
Unfortunately it has not grown but is still the best way to go up a mile in a chair. The athletes like to self propel. I need to call and see if the incline is suitable for an electric chair. The hubby pushed me last time.

We have the National Democratic convention here next summer,
There have already been signs of changes in the city, should be interesting. Hubby and I have vowed to make it to at least one event if at all possible. Probably should save some pennies to donate!

I meant the new film.
It has grown on me.
Defnitely the dialoge for the most part - as usual with me.
I did enjoy the special effects but they are not like star wars quality but it did not matter to me. The effects in the end I especially liked though.

I liked the feel of it being an older science fiction film in a way.
I wonder if film critic Jellen thought of it as being sort of old school, and in an unusual good way? It proved the story could carry it.

I had not realised that you had already been to the World Wide Walk. could you send me the link again and I can at least do it mentally. !! We are having serious thoughts about returning to South Africa. Both my son and I love it and really it is so difficult to get to the sea from here that I think it would be great to live somewhere on the coast at False Bay - something like Fish Hoek. !!

I see that smudger has written to you. Gradually I will be able to pick up my "old" friends. Yes I do mean my friends on my old Home Page of Also Ran and Also Ran1

Me have les trilogy. I reckon it goes off a bit after the 2nd one though.

Er, have to confess they are at present unreadable, since they are being used to hold up the computer desk; i reckon DNA would approve of the sacrifice so i can get onto hootoo!
