Hi all.
Tube and Bagpuss - I've selectively edited your suggestions, and put them into the prototype version 1.1 (my way of stopping Bagpuss' imitation effort before he gets underway).
You're both on the researcher list, along with Lucinda and Naita, so there'll be link to it from your space.
_Please_ do not use Version 1.1 yet - I'm going to wait a bit for some more suggestions, and then simultaneously close down 1.0 and 'officially' open 1.1.

I was going to give up on my effort anyway. It's a lot harder creating a coherent whole than sticking my oar in with a couple of suggestions, so I'll stick to the latter. I'll have a gander at 1.1 in a bit.

Done.
Speaking of sticking my oar in, I'm not very keen on B+. "My password is 'Marvin'" could mean you're into any of the versions. V1.1 looks good, though and I can't believe I forgot about Pastey. I've a feeling you edited some of my other suggestions a bit as well. The combination of all meets into one category looks to be for the best too.

The 'my password is Marvin' actually came from Naita, who's idea this was in the first place, but was too idle to put any of it into practice. I'd feel a bit guilty striking out his only remaining contribution.

Is was way back in the PR thread for Martin's Geek Code entry (I can't be bothered to find it - follow the link), where you came up with the whole idea of h2g2 code, and spieled off an example category.
This was very much your idea, Naita - I value your input.
...Oh, apart from the bit whinging about Sweden.

Nope, you remember wrong. All I did was to end a post with "has anyone created a h2g2-code?" and creating an empty entry while waiting for inspiration. The example category came from Cefpret. Not that I will deny it was all my idea from the beginning.
And if you call me a _swede_ again I'll have to sick the YFRA (A826959) on you.

Hmm... Towel code?
to+++ I wear my towel in plain sight every day, especially Towel Day, on H2G2's birthday, and my H2G2 anniversary.
to++ I make sure I have my towel on my person on Towel Day.
to+ I have a towel that is "the towel."
to I have a towel to dry off with.
to- You mean people have a special towel? What dorks!
to-- Towels are useless. I use a hairdryer.
to--- Towels are archaic. I have a specially installed body dryer.

Now, I _amy_ be biased, since I'd be a to-, but I think this tag goes under the "too much focus on our namesake".

Hmmm, yeah - why not?
Find the 'towel' category in Version 1.1

What about a GuideML proficiency code?
GM++++ I am Jim Lynn.
GM+++ GuideML is my second language.
GM++ I can do most of my coding from memory, but need to go to the Clinic to look up some of the harder things.
GM+ I do most of my coding by "yoinking" from other people's spaces.
GM I know GuideML exists, but haven't bothered to learn yet.
GM- Not learning GuideML for a reason.
GM-- Techie things scare me. Rich Text rules!
GM--- GuideML? Is that the sixth book?

Hmmm...not sure about that one. There's nothing wrong with it as it stands, but it seems like a lot of verbiage to say very little. Plus, V1.1 is getting quite lengthy already.
I think I'll run this by my writing team (how pretentious does that sound?) and see what they think.

Master B, have you seen FP19585?thread=222103 ?
Potential for a code there, I think.
