Postive Thinker, you mentioned you added the date at the bottom of your reply. As I understand it, you're supposed to reply without adding or changing anything. I've never seen a Digibox in action so all I can do is go on what info I've been given, but perhaps adding the date mucked things up for you.

Jimster the first two emails I sent were just to say that this is my true email address. When you reply to a email using a digi box the original message does not appear in your reply and it is like an original message. If I just clicked onto reply all you would get is a blank message. The original message did say to put the date at the bottom of your message.

Hi everyone...
I managed to eventually read _all_ the threads having to do with the digiboxes and the SSO at last...
Some points i would like to clarify first:
Digibox users _cannot_ access the testing site anyway as the URL doesn't start with www.bbc.co.uk/... I checked it myself after mentioning about it on the testing site... So unfortunately we couldn't test how the digiboxes would cope then... and, unless Telewest put its firewalls down again, we might never have a chance to test the digiboxes on the testing site...
Considering the number of threads on that subject and the length of some of them, it will be difficult for digibox users to find the relevant information [reading backlogs not being everyone's cup of tea]... So, as suggested in the BBCiTesters Forum, an emergency entry will be made any time now [either today or tomorrow] where problems and solutions will be included/listed in it etc...
I am still waiting for some feedback about the suggestion in the Forum by the way as the entry will/would/could/should also include the infos supposed to be read during the migration process... These infos being unfortunately in pop ups format they are _not_ accessible through the digiboxes [that was mentioned on the testing site and i'm _still_ waiting for an answer about pasting them in the entry (there was no answer about that last time i checked anyway)...]...
Right, that being said, today i tried to migrate an account through one of the digiboxes at home...
That particular digibox is the first one we've got and is an older model than the one upstairs...
But, to make things a bit more confusing that digibox got the Telewest upgrade while the one upstairs hasn't...
As expected [and already mentioned somewhere else] there was nothing to click on next to "New Membership" and "Returning BBCi Membership" while in plain skin...
So, i clicked on "Login" which is still there on the left...
But, i found myself looking at a blank page with only the BBC Registration banner at the top and something about the registration system being upgraded at the bottom... nothing in between and, even more important, nothing to click on...
Step 2 will be: trying the same thing with the newer model upstairs [though not having the Telewest upgrade] later on...
Step 3 will be: [if the migration process don't work] doing it through the PC but with my TVemail addy left...
Then, it will be step 4: logging in through the digibox...
I will have another look at the backlog as well as i think there was a question [not sure if it's in this thread though] which once answered might help the technical team regarding what makes [or could make]the digiboxes tick...
It won't be done in one go though as, due to changes in my working hours, i also need to sleep during the day...[]
Talk soon...

Update already on what i said in my previous post...
There _is_ some feedback in the BBCiTesters Forum_ about the idea of an entry/page... The email was _again_ delayed thanks to Yahoo []...
I have to go offline for a while unfortunately but i will let you know when the entry is started as soon as it is... started...
Talk soon...

Hi cuddly...
I'm ... thanks... or at least i'm better [long story... i intended to write a journal entry about what happened to me these last months but it might have to wait...]...
Let's say that the fact that i'm starting to be active again [slowly but surely] on h2g2 is good news...
WILD-BIRIYANI... Hi..
It's going to take a little while but _some_ solutions will be found... already there have been quite a few good suggestions [like in this thread] about ways to make the SSO more digibox friendly/accessible...
The main problem being that as the digiboxes cannot be tested on the testing site the problems appear when the site's upgrades etc are released... We've done well in the past [the plain skin being a nice addition with a previous one] but this one has brought a lot of unexpected problems [though PC users have experienced problems as well]... Once the problems are clearly identified and as much details as possible given by those who encounter difficulties, the technical team will be able to do more and hopefully solve most of the problems...
But, as i said, some suggestions have already been made and some _alternative_ solutions [ways of going around the obstacles] have been found as well [kow and Jab have provided a good one methinks ] so yep, there is hope...
All that has to be listed/explained in one place so that digibox users who can't post [because of the machine's problems with the SSO] can at least try some of the solutions/suggestions until the problems are sorted out once and for all [one of the many uses for that entry/page... but i will come back to that later ]...
There are a lot of people, who are not digibox users [or former digibox users], trying to find solutions, which is also great... kind of make us feel wanted... [If not, they would not bother asking all these questions and could hide behind the fact that the BBCi sites were not geared for machines other than PCs etc and just do nothing...] but that's another topic...
And of course we have our digibox wizzards like kow and jab doing their bit as well...
And all the others who have contributed in their own ways by raising important points of course or/and just by being there really... It is an incredible experience by itself and it reminds me of the time when we were still using the "360 trick"... It's at times like these that we definitely know that we [as in "current and former digibox users"] belong here...
Here i am going into full speech mode...
All that to say that there is certainly some hope for digibox users accessing again the BBC/DNA sites without too much hassle in a near future...
I'm definitely going offline now...
Talk soon everyone...

This is a little embarrassing - the email actualy says include the *data*, not the date.
I've flagged this to the single sign-on people as something that's causing confusion.

hi peeps just a short post when people have created the link via their digibox then it fails they could try replacing their usernumber and put userdetails instead, it worked for me ive now got a back up email if the 1st one fails i know its not much help for those who can't access the site at the moment but as they say every little bit helps

Its also worht mentioning, that once a digibox users account has been migrated they dont actually need the "link" once its failed. All they have to do is go to the "create new user" page. Put all the details of of thier account on that. It then comes up with <do you think you are already a member". Click YES, enter password, answer you secret question......your in, no need to create links etc, and it will stay like that untill you have to reset your digibox etc..).then you just do the same again
Hope this helps

You don't need to enter *all* your details, just your login name and password will do the same job.
