I think you mean Gundarks, they appear throughout the Star Wars universe and are proverbial for being thickskinned and almost braindead. i.e. a gun with enough power to down a Gundark

[Nerd42] Won't that make us just as bad as those pirates who attacked us? You know, when (or IF) we get safe on this planet we need to have a serious discussion of what our goals are. Do we want to just go our seperate ways, go back and kick the butts of whoever attacked Vigilance, just try to find ways to get rich, or go and whaddyacallit, explore strange new worlds and boldly split infinitaves that no man has split before?
I'm for the last three (kickbutt, get rich, and explore)
the Engage! command if I understand correctly, is an order given from the navigator to the engineer telling him to turn on the engines when the captain wants the ship to go somewhere. as the engineer, I then must confirm the engines are on and then whoever is in charge of the story tells whether the ship actually ends up moving because of this or not (in case we're caught in a tractor beam or something) Nerd42

[Gregg]Of course, we have to report back to our respective institions, all of which are a long way away. If we get back they might post us all on the same vessel, considering that we're old comrades. With any luck, we'll have plenty of bounty to spend on things and promotions to boot!

[Nerd42] Oh drat. I was hired by the Captain to keep the ship running in exchange for room and board and little pay. I haven't got any institution to go back to and would probably get burned at the stake for my unothadox disagreeing with the tech priests that technology is not sacred. What's more I'm not shure whether they're after me already....
Maybe I'll just go back to hitchhiking.

[Nerd42] long as I keep far away from the imperial tech priests, I'll run your ship, even if you use it as a pirate vessel - long as I can hire, fire, and boss around my engineers as I please, and that means they don't do those stupid "prayers of whatever" and just fix the darn things! Nerd42
