A Conversation for 2003 South Wales Meet

Yep, good idea Math. What do we ask about though? Should we limited to questions about h2g2, or can we ask about life, the universe and everything? I only ask because otherwise I'm likely to come out with a bunch of highly specialized questions about lesser-known mountains of the Brecon Beacons and Peak District, obscure rural pubs in South Wales, or beer, that I'd have trouble answering myself.
There again, setting a load of questions about beer doesn't sounds such bad idea...

Go to a search engine a see what they have for pub quiz'.. Might be able to take a few things from there..?!

I'd slump before you did, a pint of on an empty stomache finishes me off!!!
* note to self, eat before I leave *
Well if we're up for obscure questions I think I can manage a fair few of them. Shouldn't we try for more general knowledgy type things, preferabley wihtout a geography round.

Setting really obscure questions always struck me as showing off. "oooh - look what I know" it seems to say.

Right then! If everyone thinks up five (minimum, no more than ten though!) questions on a general knowledge theme, preferably avoiding the subjects of geography and soap operas (my own requirement). Be careful not to ask too obviously specialized or obscure questions or you'll look like a smart-a**e, probably.
Then, on the day we'll utilize some half-baked and overcomplicated means of asking them in a fair and unbiased manner and the winner will get, ooh I dunno, free kudos or something.
Finally, I'm off home for a week so I won't be online half as much as usual, though I will still be keeping an eye on things...
Happy Easter all!

Lunch is calling, yes it's shouting loud and clear, something along the lines of 'I'm ready, hurry up before I get cold!'
bet you never knew could speak.
See you around......

* props up thread *
So atm we're meeting in the Prince Of Wales pub, heading off for some bowling, then finding another pub for more and a quiz?
Or have I got hold of the wrong end of the thread?
It's obviously still the holiday season, it's very quiet round here.

I think bowling first and then Prince of Wales and so on. Reckon it would be more convenient for most people to finish off in the centre, near the train station and that.
Although I'm not too bothered either way.

*drops temporarily and briefly out of the ether*
Meet initially at the Prince of Wales, then go bowling, then find a decent pub(s) for drinks and quiz, and somehow contrive to get back to the bus/train station in time for the last bus home.
* back into the ether before the phone bill skyrockets*

Five days to go then.
What time are we meeting at the PofW? How will we recognise people?
Master B is definitely coming now, and will be wearing a h2g2 T-shirt.
