During final year of High School (1979?) I remember some friends referring to the radio series, but it was only when I got to University and started watching the TV series (the whole common room would be packed to bursting point, then disspate as the final banjo notes and Peter Jones' "Will he?"s faded) that I was irretreivably hooked.

After that I read the books.

And re-read the books.

And fell in love with Dirk Gently.

And listened to the re-broadcast radio series (mid 90s?) with my son.

And bought the DVDs.

Which my son now adores.
