If you see me crying,
dont ask why.
I'd prefer it if you just passed by.
I'd realy like to be left alone,
dont come to my house.
dont even phone!
My reasons why,
are not to share.
You dont have to worry.
You dont have to care.
Just leave me alone,
i'll be ok.
I'll be happier on another day

. , Thank you cutiechops. I used to live in the biggest mining village in England called Ashington it used to have 5 mines in a 15 mile radius of the area.

Do you know of silence, do you know of fear
Do you know of darkness when its echo echoes near
Do you care to listen to the ones who do not speak
Have you felt the orbit distant from this worldly clique
In the corner of your room have you sat & hugged alone
A trashcan for the feelings that this culture won't condone
A society of surfeit grasping for a surge of love
Wanting all & wanting now when some just want enough
To give & take the present of a memory so faint
To make a dream more than it seems, to kiss what once was quaint
To roam across a landscape where the country matters most
& paddle in the moonlit tides that lap an island coast
To be on lands & tread the sands where 2 grows more than 1
But footprints fade in gloomy shade when all our days are done
I shall not linger in the grip of selfishness & greed
I am the immortal stone your squeeze will never bleed
No shallow time, no gloss nor shine, this man will not be bought
I live for hope in silence, in silence & in nought
For evermore much less than poor & what is left to see
Is vacancy in heart & soul, & empty destiny.

Give or take the odd line, this (the above) was my final whine to LD in its last days. They didn't bother updating the library back then but poems live on!
Yes, I know its a bit late, but what can I say? I'm slow!

But I have to add my irrelevant opinion by saying that the greatest poem is surely The Raven. It has mood, narrative, profundity & anyone who can use the word "nepenthe" & get it to rhyme & scan deserves plenty of praise.
