I will not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Fear will pass through me and when it does there will be nothing left but me.
-Dune
Not terriably comical but I rather like it.

I read that bit in the book and thought 'what rubbish'. Fear and pain are your body's way of telling you to _get out_, and that you are being _damaged_! If you ignore them, or fight them as a matter of course, you're just asking for trouble.

Why listen? Humans have strived for hundreds of years to defeat a sense of pain. From Marajuna to morphine humans have a desire to not feel pain. Take boxing people beat the crap out of eachother and see who passes out first, but it's still entertaining. People are scared of moves, that dosen't seem to stop them from going.

We can't do great things, we can only do small things with great love.

Reminds me of my friend's favourite tshirt, with a big picture of Jesus on the front and big pink letters stating
"JESUS LOVES YOU"
and then down the bottom in smaller letters...
But everyone else thinks you're a <un%.

The vermine is a small black and white relative of the lemming, found in the cold Hublandish regions. Its skin is rare and highly valued, especially by the vermine itself; the selfish little bastard will do anything rather than let go of it.
