Thanks Smudger, I've been meaning to sort this out as Terri has the same problem I think.
What would be helpful is if you could tell me the browser and version that you are using, and operating system and version.
Also, can you say how much too wide the page is eg is it twice as wide as your screen?
And if you have another browser, can you tell me if the page does the same thing in that (and what browser and version it is).
Glad you llked the new page otherwise

Abbi is that something recent or has it always been like that since I started making changes to the page?
Also if either of you want to have a look at the h2 front page and see how it looks, as Terri said sometimes it looks wide to her too.

When I go to the front page I can get all of the body and one margin in. On our page - I cannot get the middle section(body) in without moving it.
I do not think it has always been this wide but I cannot pinpoint when it changed

The browser is the programme that you use to access webpages, in this case Internet Explorer.
I'm using IE too, but with no problems. I'm using a Mac version which may make a difference. When I use Netscape the DMN page is way too wide.
Will investigate.

Kea - I always have my print (display) on medium or large so it just occured to me that could make a difference. It has been on medium the last week. Smudgers may also be larger than the default size

Ok, how is that looking now? Traveller in Time gave me a tip on what to do.
Abbi the text font default will affect the page width. I tend to have my fonts biggish (set at 18 in I.E.), so I am hoping that if it works for my browsers everyone else's should be ok. But let me know if it's not as I can make the page narrower still probably.

Smudger879n Posted Jul 24, 2004
Ah! yes, I understand now
Its just that it came up on a different screen, that was unusual
BTW, I wonder if you could help me, Im trying to move the copies of all my Snippets from a floppy disc to a CD type disc, as a back up copy,
but every time I load the CD disc into either drive "D" or "E" it keeps saying that there is "no disc in"

Hmm, I;m not sure Smudger - I'm on Mac and it works kinda differently.
You could try asking on <./>Ask h2g2</.> or <./>How do I...?</.> as there are always people there with such techie answers
