I like it too!!
I was thinking it might mean fantastic but in a crappy kind of way, if you know what I mean (sick person's dark humour)
I haven't had my lie down today, but I did get an unexpected visit from a friend from out of town, which cheered me up

For all of you who are feeling a little older and missing those great old tunes, there is good news. Some of your old favorites have re-released their great hits with new lyrics to accommodate their aging audience.
Some examples:
Herman's Hermits--"Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Walker"
The Rolling Stones--"You Can't Always Pee When You Want"
Paul Simon--"Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver"
Carly Simon--"You're So Varicose Vein"
The Bee Gees--"How Can You Mend a Broken Hip?"
Roberta Flack--"The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face"
Johnny Nash--"I Can't See Clearly Now"
The Temptations--"Papa's Got a Kidney Stone"
Nancy Sinatra--"These Boots Give Me Arthritis"
ABBA--"Denture Queen"
Leo Sayer--"You Make Me Feel Like Napping"
Commodores--"Once! , Twice, Three Trips to the Bathroom"
Procol Harem--"A Whiter Shade of Hair"
The Beatles--"I Get By with a Little Help From Depends"
Credence Clearwater Revival--"Bad Prune a-Rising"
Marvin Gaye--"I Heard It Through the Grape Nuts"
The Who--"Talkin' 'Bout My Medication"

Hi Abbi, Terri, Pedboy, Moose, and everyone.
I wasn't sure where to put this...
I'd like to offer to redo the front page of DMN. I've been thinking about this for awhile, hoping Moose would come back and I could talk to her about it - don't want to step on anyone's toes. Moose hasn't been on for a while so I thought I'd post here.
I've got a few ideas in mind, know enough guideML to get started, and am happy to canvas for suggestions from DMNers.
What do you think?
kea.
p.s. I need to put in a rider of energy permitting, and that it would happen over time. But at the moment I am up late alot, bored, and looking for something interesting and constructive to do.

PLEASE PLEASE DO!! I am certain wouldn't mind, she really has enough on her plate at the moment with her studies & anyway, when De Myelin Nation started up it was always intended to be a group effort, all of us are united in one very important way: we ALL have days/weeks/months when we CAN & when we CAN'T do stuff.
Could one of the first things be to add cheerfuls name to the front page please?
Terri (at present rather distracted with the practicalities of trying to adapt to a new friendship, which inevitably involves sharing info about the problems of having Demyelin stuff.)

Excellent . I'll pop a note on Moose's page to let her know I will be fiddling with her handywork.
Do either of you know how this works technically? Do I have to become the person who edits the page? How does this happen? (How did you set it up so that Moose did it?)
~~~
Good luck with the explanations to your new friend Terri . I always find it nice to have new people actually interested in my health and how it affects my life.
Other people seem to think that it's not that relevant, as if you can have a relationship with someone and ignore the central thing in their life . I often want to tell those people that if they stop talking about their jobs, and partners, and children, then I will stop talking about my illness .
--Possibly for us, none of those things are a realistic option!
Oh yes!!!! Tell me about it!!!! Most "normal" people haven't the faintest idea what it's like to be existing in a constant undercurrent of pain, fear, uncertainty & fatigue. And if you try & explain, they go glazed pretty quickly, illness is boring, except to the person involved, to whom it is the boring & solitary reality.
As to technicalities, i assume that abbi or Moose set up De My Nat as a separate page & thus got an identity for it, but registered via their own email address. Moose changes her email about every 3 minutes! Maybe best to ask abbi on this, i am hopeless with techno stuff!
Z might be good to ask,he managed to sort out my personal space by talking over the phone, but i had to give him my password to h2g2 first.
Kea I can ask Moose in email if she will post it to you.
I suppose you could change it once you get in
Moose is the only one to have worked on the page
Ok, Abbi. I think there must be a way for more than one person to be the editor of a page. I'll go check with a Guru or someone, and get back to you about emailing Moose.
Abbi and Terri, and Leopardskinfynn ifyou are around
It's a wee bit complicated getting it set up for me to edit the DMN page. It sounds like the best way is to set up a new h2 ID specifically for editing that page.
Then we have to ask the Italics to change the editing rights of the DMN page from Moose to the new ID (this is up to their discretion).
Once we have done that then whoever has access to the new ID account can edit the page. This is useful because it means that it can be passed on to others as needed (if both Moose and I are gone for instance).
I'm happy to arrange all this, but feel I need your permission to approach the Italics.
(Technicaly, the only other ways are for me to have access to Moose's account - not an option; or for me to just do a one off update of the page and wait until Moose can cut and paste it in - an unlikely option given the nature of the editing process).
What do you think?
I'll pop over to Leopard's page and let her know about this convo.
Great post on the co-editing thread Terri - that explains it very well
Will just wait to hear from Abbi. In the meantime looking for my begging bowl ... I know it's around here somewhere.
I emailed Moose.
It may take a day or two before she checks her email. I asked her what she thought about Kea working on our front page. I asked about the password too.
As always we have appreciated her help
Moose was the first person to say hello to me
She also had enough nerve to ask me if I was talking to myself in my journal and how weird it was if so! I liked that about her plus,
I was!
It took me a while to find friendlies when I came to h2g2 and I was about to give up so I figured I had nothing to lose. I also yelled out Anyone Out There??? Moose ,Lady Scott and Pheloxi answered All Nice folks!
