"begging bowl and cap in hand" - what I need to go to the Italics
Abbi, thanks for emailing Moose . I was starting to feel like I was getting carried away, when I hadn't even asked Moose yet if it was alright. I was just getting a bit enthusiasitc. You can tell her though, that I am totally fine if she wants to do the page herself. There are lots of other projects for me to get involved with on h2 .
If she is interested in sharing the editing, Moose won't have a password she can give me -it's her personal ID that lets her edit the page (as far as I can tell). That's why if anyone else is to edit the page, it's best to set up a separate h2 ID specifically for that purpose.
We could come up with a cool name, and you and Terri and Moose and myself could all have access to logon to that ID. That way the page ID and password gets shared rather than someone's personal ID and password.
The Italics will have to agree to change the editing rights of the DMN page from Moose's ID to the DMN ID that we set up. I haven't asked them yet - am waiting for the ok from you and Moose.
Hope that made sense. I haven't created an entry before, so I'm just going off what the Gurus told me.
>>Moose was the first person to say hello to me
She also had enough nerve to ask me if I was talking to myself in my journal and how weird it was if so! I liked that about her plus,
I was! <<
That really sounds like Moose (and you Abbi). It's neat how personality comes across so well in some people online.

I know I am techie dense! Please bear with me.
Does this mean you would start another new page from scrap?

It's taking me a bit to get my head around it too. I think what it means is that we open a new H2 account, and register it as something like DMNers. That creates a personal space for the researcher "DMNers".
That researcher can then write guide entries (which essentially is what the DMN mainpage that you and Terri et al set up is). If DMNers writes an entry then they become the person who can access it to edit it (by pressing on the edit this page button which only appears to someone logged in as DMNers).
So, then we ask the Italics to do tech magic and change the editing status of the DMN mainpage from Moose to DMNers. After that, only the people that can log in as DMNers can edit the page.
The DMN mainpage itself does not change its A number, so no new page is created for that (which is good because all links to that page will remain current). All that changes on the DMN mainpage (in addition to the editing rights) is the guideML.
I hope that is right, because I haven't created an entry before.
I'll see if I can find an example of a ID that has been created in order to edit a guide entry.

Abbi, Natalie Italics tried contacting Moose on the email that bbci has and it got bounced back. I'm guessing you have a more uptodate one, otherwise your email to Moose would have got bounced back too?
Natalie has said that if Moose is agreeable that they will be happy to change the editing rights on the page. If we want to share those rights we need to set up a new ID (something to think about).
I'm going to leave an updated message on Moose's page. If you hear from her, can you ask her to check her page?

Yup, all down to being able to contact now; she does whizz in from time to time & will probably pick up messages left on her space;
Hope her exams are going well, she has had a lot of pressure with this lately, whoever said that schooldays are the best in your life is MAD!
From the lofy perspective of 48, i would reckon mid 30's are best times...what do you think?

Being in my late 30s, I'm looking forward to my 40s!!
I'm just getting to the point of really integrating that I don't have to care what other people think. I can if I want to but it's not compulsory. It feels very freeing. I think I am going to be a disgraceful old crone, and I'm looking forward to it . Still a bit young to take that on though.
Do you think Moose has exams on? It doesn't seem like the right time of year. In NZ the students are only just back from the summer break and are all going beserk with Orientation (read drinking extremely large quantities of alcohol and doing stupid things because this is the first time they've been away from home).

Moose is(was) away from home doing her student teacher time with young children. It was to take a few months. I do not believe I kept the email. She should pop up soon.
There are definitely advantages to being olderif a person finds there are not, then they must not have grown up in the first place!
It is important to keep alive the childlike joy and desire for new discoveries and a willingness to take on new interests or improving on old ones Boredom and a closed mind kill off more brain & body cells than anything else!

*waves at pedboy*
Long time, no squeak, how are you doing?
Well, squeaking as a 48 yr old, I don't think growong up is much of an option for me either in many ways! i often think that I am pretty much mentally the same now as I was at 14. Physically, life is a lot more limited, but this isn't necessarily age related as we all know on here.

HIYA *waves*
I'm not at my best, but not worth complaining about. I can still get around(with help).
How are you doing?
Now I am in the process of having my home renovated for wheelchair access, for when the day arrives.

Hi Pedboy
Did you get out more with the dogs this winter?
I always picture you with them when I see your name.

Moose gave her Ok to me in email since she has not been around and is very busy. She said she did not know of any password though.
There are certain trademarks I would like to keep of hers like the banner above and little "Alfred" is it? (small green frog on front page)
So what do you need to start up Kea?

Hi Abbi . How's things?
Thanks for bumping the thread up - I have been thinking I needed to go back and find it
What needs to happen now is:
1. We need to let Natalie Editor know that Moose has ok-ed things. Natalie may need proof of this. I'll go find the thread I was in with her about this and ask what she needs.
2. A new h2g2 account needs to be set up specifically for DMN. I'm happy to do this and to share the password with you and Terri and Moose. I'll need someone's email addy that can pass the password on to the other two. Is cookiemonster your email? If so I can use that
3. Once we have the DMN account set up Natalie will change the editing rights of the DMN Guide Entry to that account. This means that you, Terri, Moose or me can make changes to the page. The DMN page (Entry) itself stays with the same number and URL etc.
I'm really happy to be guided by you, Terri and Moose about what stays on the page and what changes. I have a few ideas too. Once we get the new setup done maybe I can start a conversation on DMN about what people want to see?
