A Conversation for The Post Christmas Poetry Competition
Christmas Post Competition
Bluebottle Started conversation Nov 30, 2002
I must confess that I have written rhyming type stuff with Christmas themes, many of which were when I was a wee nipper at school. And I am tempted to be cruel and inflict them on the Post and H2G2 at large. Just a couple of questions:
1.) Is there a limit on the number I submit? Or can it be only 1?
2.) Is there a maximum word limit?

Greebo is running this competition BB and she is not a well cat just know so I hope I get this correct!
As far as I know there is no limit on either number of words or entries, but we reserve the right to only publish one in the event that we are flooded with poems.
If you want to send them through, then make it clear which you would prefer to see in 'print' in this event.

Okay then, how about I enter one into the competition, and have the rest as general "H2G2 Post Poems", one a week until Christmas? What is the deadline for the Christmas edition anyway?

Shazz, I've decided to enter a poem, which I've e-mailed Greebo. I decided to enter my worst one, on the grounds that the others I'll enter as a normal post article for me - on my page with me being able to edit them. The one I submit into the Post Competition will no longer be able to be edited by me, so I might as well send in the one I don't mind losing.
The one for this week's post poem is now here: A781210

This will appear shortly! Could you change the link to the FP? It seems to be pointing to an edition much earlier than December at the moment!

Okay - have done. I'll also let you know where the next Post Poem article is shortly, once I've finished putting it on H2G2. Does the post have a Christmas-themed archive? I looked, but couldn't see one.
Also, is there going to be a Post on the 19th December? I'm hoping to put the "Wight Christmas" article which I wrote for the post last year in the Christmas Post edition this year - so is that going to be this week or next week's?

The answer to your question about forthcoming issues lies here: A810668 - and you can also grab the relevant link at the same time.
Nope, no Christmas Archive - I think the dates of the issues would hopefully suggest which editions are pertinant. I may get around to doing one sometime, but not at the moment.
