I have done my best to keep him from learning how to move in and out of other peoples converstions. He could become quite annoying very quickly. I know that he will eventually figure it out, but I hope it takes some time.

Hmm. You have a point, I suppose. He was a bit irritating with the whole tango thing, to be sure. But hey, he's a good kid, and I'm sure you're correct in your assumption that he'll find this (and for that matter any of the others,) very quickly.
So there we are then.
What books were you two speaking of earlier, if I might be so bold as to inquire...?

HDS had loaned me "The passing of the Technomages" a babylon 5 book series and he was going to try and get Myst to read them next.

I am much more fond of Fantasy literature though. Tolkien, Brooks, and Jordan are among my favorite authors. I took my character from Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series. My first journal entry is actually the prologue to the first "Wheel of Time" book. You should read it, it is very engaging and you may see why I became hooked on the series in a matter of paragraphs.

Hiya,
I'm back, the comp works again.
Lews, have you begun the latest of the Star Wars yet? there is an interesting duel at the end, though nowhere near as cool as Shedao Shai vs Corran Horn.

I'm reading Terry Pratchett right now... You know, the uy who does all the Discworld novels? He's brilliant.

I'm not familiar with the diskworld novels.
But I am very glad to hear that you have finally started the book Lews, the next 3 books in the series are going to be a mini-series of their own, and I think Timithy Zahn is writing the 15th and final book.
I love the Star Wars Expanded Universe. But as there are few books in the works and none freshly out I am reading Dune right now, and watching both versions to see where they are alike and different in following the book.
Lews (or Jade if you know), are the Wierding Devices in any of the books?

Jade, could you give some general subject/content facts about the Pratchet that you are reading? I am running low on books to read, having torn through the +60 Star Wars Expanded Universe books in only *looks thoughfull and counts on fingers* 7 years (been reading them since I was in 4th grade, other books have interupted the trend: Tolkien, Rowling, and afew others).

There are no "weirding devices" in any of the books. The "weirding way" is merely a Bene Gesserit technique of complete muscle control to greatly enhance speed, strength, and precision of movement. It can be enhanced with something called Prana Bindu training that you may encounter in later books. Any such devices are totally new creations from one of the movies.

Pratchett is a comic genius, to be short. The Discworl series is brilliant in that all the books are about different characters who reside on the discworld (and I make no mistake in saying on, for the discworld is a flat planet which rests atop a great large turtle.), so you can read them in whatever order you see fit, as you won'ty be missing anything, perse.
My favourite books are the ones that deal with Death (as in the character, not the thing, as it were,). He's a great character. (So read either "Reaper Man" or "Mort," for either are just great.
I also greatly reccomend anything at all by Neil Gaiman (but in particular "American Gods" or "Stardust"), because suffice it to say that i want to be him when I grow up.
...I'm a writer. Did I mention that? Heh.

I thought Soul Music was pretty good, too. And Moving Pictures almost killed me, I laughed so much.
Sorry, carry on. Don't mind me...

Sorry, I just felt the need to do that. Anyway, yeah, you have to stay now. Because I said so. Ha-haaaaa.

Well, Jade, you haven't mentioned that you are a writer in this thread, but you have mentioned it. As to Pratchet and Gieman, I will add them to the list of things I need to read. I should get to them within the year as the book series that I am following now are slowing up their output.
