At the time of my divorce my son was 6yrs and daughter 5yrs,I brought them upthey are now 28 and 27. part of their "education" was just because someone looks different, talks different, walks different doesn't mean they are (forgive the term, it's not meant as a insult)ga ga.
I told them that too many people have blinkers on and can't see the person inside. When the "medical folk" found out about my spine, my mother was told - he'll be a vegetable, a cabbage - we've moved on from the 1950's
I am so glad that they know have the paralympics, as the world is NOW truly leaningthat we are ALL normal

I prefer to think that we are all abnormal and you are just a pioneer. It's good that you have been able to instruct your children and, as you say, important that events such as the paralympics are giving people the chance to see the mentally and physically disabled as ordinary members of society. What's up with your spine?

Benjamin, that is an interesting condition to have. It's a bit scary though if you can unlock your door and go on walkabouts. It is a good thing that you are not a dodgy character. I hope it doesn't occur that frequently.
