Did anyone have h2g2 on their list? Under 50 too...

No, there comes back the spirit of the thread.
Sorry Peanut, but if a thread doesn't go your way, but the way the majority of people want it to, that's not it losing its spirit.
If you want something else, go set it up. If others want the same, they'll join you While nowhere on h2g2 is private, one of the niceties of the community is to respect the wishes of others.

I was just saying that I happy the way it was, why I was and didn't think that it needed changing.
Personally I think that formalising the 'communication rules', having a designated places/spaces for 'a certain type of chatter' as you put it within this thread is un-necessarily prescriptive and does take the spirit out of it.
I didn't understand that it was such an issue for other people because until today I have never considered that it was an issue at all.
I wouldn't go and set up another thread
If this thread turns out not to be what I had some expectation of,oh well,
that is down to me and I'll just unsub, no probs,

As a child I fervently believed that playing with toy railroads
was more fun when you didn't follow the tracks round and round.
God save us from designated chat areas.

This is why the 'not on the list' thread was set up some years ago. People were just posting any old death and the real in-game deaths got swamped in amongst the chatter.
I'm perfectly happy with people posting condolence comments here as long as it doesn't get too much.
It helps with those keeping track of the scoring if nothing else. It can be real pain when it's difficult to wade through the backlog to find if there is a scoring hit.
Just my wasn't meaning to spoil anyone's day

I think that the 'not on the list' thread serves that purpose well.
I still think it is ok for people to comment here about those on the list and that 'this chatter' doesn't swamp this thread but adds a great deal to it.
I keep up the scoreboard if I want to quickly check the scores and hits and over the year check my own list occasionally to make sure that I am up to date with everyone

I'm with Orcus I'm afraid, I find the chatter swamps this thread, and there's more than enough other, possibly more suitable places for it.

I always thought it was a nice part of the game that we put a few thoughts / condolences / etc on this thread ... especially some people see us as being a bit like vultures ...
Just also pointing out that this discussion about what should be discussed is taking up more space than the condolences, so maybe this is a discussion that should be had elsewhere

Hi everyone
Having had a consultation with the Community Editors, I feel it's best to move the Deathlist threads to the actual Deathlist 2014 page. A87818430
All the players are subscribed already and anyone else is welcome to start new conversations there with the title of the newly deceased's name. I hope that's a solution which will suit everybody.

I should have claimed that really shouldn't I.
My first thoughts on hearing of Tom Finney's sad demise were - here we go *another* one I *used* to have on my list.
But of course my list this year is the 'used to be on my list and is still alive' list.
I think that's my first ever unique pick score.
Anyway, more important thoughts should waft towards though who knew him and are left behind.

I feel very guilty for taking him off my list this year.
