Magic in the Air It has been one of those magical weeks. At first, the Post inbox was a little bare, like Mother Hubbard's cupboard. But then your Editor made a few well-practised whinging noises, and the Stuff started flooding in. Happiness all around, and you've got lots of treats in store.
Technology, nature, and a sense of seizing the moment seem to dominate in this week's essays, humour, and art. Obviously, h2g2ers have been a lot of places, and they're ready to tell about it. Awix has been to the cinema, but he seems to wish he hadn't. Pastey's been tasting the beer again, and observing marketing people in their unnatural habitat. Minorvogonpoet remembers nights around the campfire, while Bluebottle's been on his bike. Willem's been down by the river, we guess, Gnomon's been looking at Goth dolls (see picture), and Vestboy's been looking under the bonnet.
We're issuing a writing challenge, teasing your memories with a quiz, and bringing you a new Oddity. A word about the Oddity of the Week feature: we'd love to have contributions. If you have a personal or public-domain photo to share, please send it to us with a story telling where it comes from, and what we should know about it.
Read, enjoy, leave comments to inspire more writing. If you're in the European monsoon zone, stay dry and comfy. If you're in the US, remember your sunscreen.
