I'm Virtually There !

All right, Pastey, you talked me into it. One small problem though: I don't think I'll have the funds to fly there nor spend handfuls of currency as I'd like because the paycheck doesn't go ~that far~. Also, my Vacation is scheduled for May this year, though it may be apportioned earlier and/or later on an as-needed basis.
My solution to the obstacles is to "virtually" attend the First Annual NooHooToo Meet. I'd like to send someone on that side of The Pond an ersatz paper simulacrum of me, one that could be taken along to all the venues on the itinerary.
1.
The Friday Pre-Meet sounds like fun and it'll give me the opportunity to unwind from the Air Mail lag. While visiting the Port Street Beer House, you locals will have to point out which of the porters and other dark beers are favorites, so I can sample them, too. As for "special accommodations" in the downstairs area, well, ~one~ of you mates is gonna have to help me to the loo...
2.
On Saturday, after a hearty breakfast to clear out the potential hangover, I'll tag along to The Cask pub so I can have a 'hair of the dog what bit me' by trying a genuine Cider. Then I can sit around with y'all to discuss Life, the Universe, and Everything...and I figure we can punch each other in the shoulder and belch loudly. One drink should do me, as I'm a "cheap drunk," so--Pastey--you can't monopolize me and keep me drinking.
3.
To facilitate this, simply hand me off to someone who's going to take a tour of the Museum of Science and Industry. I'd particularly like to examine all the various modes of transport--cars, planes, and locomotives. If there's a way I could take a picture of that one factory on the cover of the Pink Floyd album "Animals"--the one depicting "Pigs on the Wing"--that would make my day. {Oh, wait. That's not in Manchester, is it?}
4.
For the Main Meet to be held at the Font Bar, I'll want to take several rides in the lift. Just my little OCD. I like to stop at each floor and announce the arrival with something like, "Second Floor, Sporting Goods; Third Floor, Ladies Lingerie!" Anyone up (and down) for this activity will need to give me a hand and push the buttons. For the dining, I'll have fish'n'chips, 'cause I've never had it done right proper and don't want to miss it. For my libation, I want to have a tankard of the specialty brew they're making for us--maybe two or three. Someone will have to pour me into my hotel room; as I've mentioned I'm a cheap drunk. Yet, I don't want to miss the opportunity to savor the finer things your local has to offer.
5.
Once all the hoopla is over, I'd thank you very kindly to have someone post me back to my home in Mid-MO, USA. I'll happily pay the postage. Much as I know I'll enjoy hanging out with y'all, I have responsibilities to my family and my work back on t'other side of The Pond.

This certainly sounds do-able. Amy's attended several meets in paper.
There may also be another way, which I'm working on, and will hopefully have more news on later...

BEBBB,
The factory you refer to is Battersea Power Station, London.
The Pig was a giant balloon that had been installed at the station for a Pink Floyd 'Animals' photo shoot. It broke free before the photo could be taken and drifted across London, actually disrupting air traffic as it reached 30,000 feet. It eventually crash-landed in a farmer's field in Kent, where it was retrieved.
The album cover is actually a composed cover and was re-enacted in September 2011, albeit with a new 'pig'.

Aye, MMF, thinking of what the air traffic controllers may have said back then still makes me giggle
Controller: "Warning all pilots, watch out for a giant flying pig, the size of a three story building"
Pilot: What the have you been smoking?

Pastey,
Plans have changed. I will not be attending the Manchester Meet, even in paper form. This is my last great 'hurrah', so I thought I'd at least tie up this loose end before I leave. Thanks for the camaraderie!
