Yeah, the idea that "left brain/right brain" people have different personality types, artistic/analytical &c, is hogwash. As is the whole "type A / type B" personality thing as well.


That said, I saw this video recently and... well, my mind is blown. The two sides of your brain may, indeed, have their own individual personalities or identities.

You don't need to be sorry on my account, Dmitri. Dualism has a certain attraction for people of a certain bent. If they're not actually doing any harm, I say step aside and let them proceed.

The world is a pretty complicated place. The most I can do in understanding it is try to walk around it and see it from different angles. I am endlessly fascinated by the play of light and shadow in the different parts of my yard. I can pore over computer simulations of the effects of two apartment buildings that will be erected in front of my trailer park. The buildings will cast shadows in our direction in the morning and early afternoon from September 21 through March 21. But by June 21, we will mostly be getting a normal amount of sunlight as if the buildings were not there.
