The Noesis registration is a mix of automatic (to register on their system) and manual (so we can give you access to the h2g2 boards). The h2g2 part of it can take a few hours because there are only a small handful of us who can do it, and it depends on one of them being around.

For all we know? Noesis never promised that they weren't researching computers that could take over humans - thats why they need h2g2 - the arcane knowledge will be important i'm sure

I think the test words do have a space.

And for everyone else - yes there is a maths test, but it's an incredibly easy test to check you're not a bot.

It's setting up the volunteer teams.

Historically, the volunteers were (still are) co-ordinated via yahoo email groups or mailing lists. The BBC have the keys to those (assuming they've not lost them). We needed to get the volunteer groups up and running now, so we needed a way to communicate with the volunteers. Moving onto the Noesis boards seemed the best way to do that. The Interim Committee's been camped out there for a few weeks, and now the volunteers are joining us.

Just to reiterate, once the sale has officially been completed, Noohootoo will be the same as Oldhootoo, just on the new servers. Noohootoo will NOT exist on the Noesis boards.

We may have a very very temporary home there if Noohootoo is not available or if it is available but closed for posting, but think of it as staying in a B&B while the builders are in, not as renting while we look for somewhere permanent to buy.

I would love to volunteer for a role, though I'm not sure which would work best for all parties. I'd been an ACE years ago, but stepped away when a combination of having too much work/too little free time to properly meet and greet folks got in the way. I still don't have tons of free time, but after enjoying this community for over nine years, I feel I really should be giving a little something back. I'd like to volunteer for a Community role!

We're struggling a bit at the moment in that, on the Community side, there's no a lot to do. Apart from a couple of things we're kinda in limbo until everything is finalised with the BBC and we can officially start to move forward. At the moment we are still the preferred bidder, rather than the defintely-confirmed-in-writing bidder, so we can't go ahead with much.
